Week 10 Review: Burn Bright

From Goodreads:
Mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham face a threat like no other--one that lurks too close to home...

They are the wild and the broken. The werewolves too damaged to live safely among their own kind. For their own good, they have been exiled to the outskirts of Aspen Creek, Montana. Close enough to the Marrok's pack to have its support; far enough away to not cause any harm.

With their Alpha out of the country, Charles and Anna are on call when an SOS comes in from the fae mate of one such wildling. Heading into the mountainous wilderness, they interrupt the abduction of the wolf--but can't stop blood from being shed. Now Charles and Anna must use their skills--his as enforcer, hers as peacemaker--to track down the attackers, reopening a painful chapter in the past that springs from the darkest magic of the witchborn...

My Review:
Oh, this book was incredible! It's been a while since we last had a Alpha & Omega book (Dead Heat) though it hasn't been so long for me, since I only started the series around after Fire Touched released. So this was the first book in this series that I've had to wait for. And it was so great!

For me, it felt like this book was almost like a series of novellas. Well, more like a series of short stories all together because there was only one big climax vs. a increasingly up and less down of up and down motion. They had the connecting thread-in that it was all about the too damaged wolves. We got some of their stories, why they were like the way they were, and how important that was to this plot! Loved it!

This book, only the 2nd to take place in Aspen Creek,  also brought us back to the plot in the first book in the complete world, Moon Called. Because they never found the money backer, and they got a big juicy lead in this book! As well as catching the spy, who I totally didn't expect! Who it was, that hurt so much! Like, how could they have done that?

This book had a lot of tidbits, like Anna stating that Bran's feelings for Mercy were not father-like as previously been stated by other characters including Mercy, but more adult-like, which was creepy but made some sense given Samuel's reasoning also works for him. Also, the fact that Leah loves Bran. Or that Bran thought that Leah was the spy which is why he hasn't come back. But he was closer than he should've been if he was right, because his wolf wouldn't let him be that far away from his mate!

Loved this book, so many twists and turns and I loved that ending and I can't wait for the next book!
