Week 10 Review: Four of a Kind

From Goodreads:
When a girl in the New England town of Ryme is found brutally murdered, the community seeks help from criminal psychologist Audrey Harte.

The media wants Audrey's insight into the mind of a killer, and the school and parents hope she can help the students properly process the crime.

But Audrey can't resist assisting Detective Neve Graham in the quest to find the killer. A killer who seems willing do anything to avoid going to jail, even killing a cop -- or a psychologist.

Four of a Kind is the latest thriller featuring Audrey Harte, the criminal psychologist who uses her own dark past to help stop dangerous killers.

My Review:
This book was so fantastic! The mystery, the romance, these characters continuing on their journeys, was just so freaking great! I just really enjoyed being in this world some more, and the updates into their worlds! That ending with the announcement of their news was so great!

This case involved the murder of a transgender teen. On one hand, diversity! On the other, she (I think this is the right pronoun because the victim chose to be female) was killed. Boo! And she had an ex who had trouble with the fact that she was born a guy, so it was explored in the book.

Another part of this case was the group of 4 friends, which included the ex, who was with all of the girls. Drama! And that the murdered girl had also been seeing the brother of one of the friends, on the side, yeah, there were a lot of complicated dynamics there!

Things are complicated when the ex is beaten by a group of guys, including the brother having benefits with the victim. There were a few messed up moments, and that Audrey was helping out at the school where all these suspects and victims went to, just came together so well!

I loved reading this book, Audrey's really found her place, and that's so great! Can't wait to read Zero Hour!
