Week 11 Review: Truthwitch

From Goodreads:
In a continent on the edge of war, two witches hold its fate in their hands.

Young witches Safiya and Iseult have a habit of finding trouble. After clashing with a powerful Guildmaster and his ruthless Bloodwitch bodyguard, the friends are forced to flee their home.

Safi must avoid capture at all costs as she's a rare Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lies. Many would kill for her magic, so Safi must keep it hidden - lest she be used in the struggle between empires. And Iseult's true powers are hidden even from herself.

In a chance encounter at Court, Safi meets Prince Merik and makes him a reluctant ally. However, his help may not slow down the Bloodwitch now hot on the girls' heels. All Safi and Iseult want is their freedom, but danger lies ahead. With war coming, treaties breaking and a magical contagion sweeping the land, the friends will have to fight emperors and mercenaries alike. For some will stop at nothing to get their hands on a Truthwitch.

My first review of Truthwitch
My Review:
I had such a great time rereading this book! I loved reading it the first time and I meant to continue with the series, but it just never worked out. So with how long it took to continue, I of course had to go back and reread this book before continuing on!

Safi and Isuelt are such fantastic characters to read about! They're both strong in their own ways, they compliment one another, and I adore their friendship. And while they were after someone else, their actions do cause all of this to start going down for them. Opps!

We also got Merik's perspective, which was really great, because next book, the focus seems to be on him, it's titled after him. And we were introduced to the problems that his country is facing, and I can't wait to learn more!

I remembered a lot going down in that ending, but oh, it was pretty intense, reading it again! There was so much going on, so many cliff-hanger moments, and so many characters to pay attention to, it was a hurricane! And that they ended up split up...I need to know what's going to happen next!

Loved reading this book, and I really need to continue now!
