Week 17 Review: The Exception to the Rule

From Goodreads:
On February 14, an accidental email to a stranger opens the door to an unexpected relationship in a captivating short story by the New York Times bestselling authors of The Unhoneymooners.

One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine's Day isn't the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual tradition—with rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email "dates" are breaking, and they're sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?

Christina Lauren's The Exception to the Rule is part of The Improbable Meet-Cute, irresistibly romantic stories about finding love when and where you least expect it. They can be read or listened to in one sitting.

My Review:
This was such a cute read! I love Christina Lauren's books, but I'd never heard of this once, because it's an Amazon mini series or something, plus it did only come out this year. But I'm glad that I saw it, and of course I enjoyed reading it!

The fact that this started with a misaddressed email, and lead to a tradition of emails on that date every year, it was adorable to read, that they had this very narrow, but pretty intense, bond that was just for this one day, a day very close to Valentine's Day.

This story spans years, but the first part was just the emails, but it's just a bit before and after, as well as the day. That there might be romantic interest, but they're never single at the same time until the next part, where it goes to a normal story format, again, so good!

Then comes the year where they're both single, and oh, I loved that. That they were actually in the same place, at the same party and she witnessed an embarrassing interaction with him and another girl, which lead to him knowing who she was before she knew he was, that had me anticipating the moment that she found out, because to her, he was just the hot TA. So lovely to read!

Loved reading this story and I might look into reading the other books in this series, and of course whatever is next from Christina Lauren!
