Week 47 Review: The Giant

From Goodreads:
In the violent early days of the quarantine, Gonzalo joins a gang of thieves who live in the ductwork of McKinley High School. There he falls in love with Sasha, but as he grows too big to fit, he is forced to leave without her.

A year later, he scours the infected zone for her. No matter how many murderers, puncture wounds, or militia he has to survive, Gonzalo can't give up on Sasha.

In the fourth installment of the Quarantine series, Lex Thomas delivers two intertwined stories about love and longing, which merge in a conclusion where the fate of the entire infected zone hangs in the balance.

My Review:
I had a great time reading this book! From the synopsis of book 3, this was originally meant to be a trilogy, that this book wouldn't exist. But I'm glad it did, to follow these characters and get their story, and what affect is has on the world! The ending of book 3 was a pretty good wrap up of the main trio's story, but it still left some story to tell, so I'm glad that we got this book!

Before I restarted this series, this is what I thought book 2 was going to be, of seeing the outside world with the escapees. The Saints was something different, but I'm glad that we got this one, because the outside world and how it was dealing with the quarantine..

We had some time with Gonzalo in the first book, but after that, he wasn't a player. So I'm glad that we got this book to spend this time with him, of his story and Sasha. They had it rough, but I was rooting for them to find happiness in the ending!

The division between teens and adults because of this infection, it's difficult to deal with, and raises some moral questions, because teens are the future of the world, so if the adults kill them all, what's going to happen to humanity? So that was a great dilemma of this book!

Really enjoyed reading this book and it was a great end to the series!
