YA Book Trailers Update 2
Ok, I have 2 trailers, though 1 isn't YA, but it's one of my favourite authors, Christine Feehan!
First is Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater:
And the next is Leopard's Prey by Christine Feehan:
Yeah, I know Scorpio Races came out last year, but it's just got this trailer. So what do you guys think?

Random Reads #79, May 30th
Random Reads is a monthly meme (that I'm going to do weekly) hosted by I'm Loving Books to read some books that have been on our TBR piles for a long time. Using Random.org, I got 1602 which turned out to be Live to Tell by Wendy Corsi Staub! It's been on my TBR pile since September 25th 2011, and I added it because it sounded really good and I have a copy of it! Happy reading!

Good thing that a ditch hit didn't happen, but bad that it came close!

But can she?
Reclusive novelist Aaron Westhaven, a man she's admired -- and more -- for years, has accepted Olivia Dupree's invitation to speak at a local fundraiser. But the day he's due to arrive, she gets a call summoning her to the bedside of a John Doe whose sole possession is her business card.
Can this unbelievably compelling man -- survivor of an execution-style gunshot wound -- really be the novelist the lonely Olivia has grown to think of as a near soul mate? If not, he can be in Shadow Falls for only one reason: to kill her.
Olivia, too, has secrets. And discovering the truth about the man in the hospital bed means dredging up her own past -- a past she's being hiding from for sixteen years.

Waiting on Wednesday #108, May 29th
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!
The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan
Expected Publication: May 14th, 2013
From Goodreads:
After a bizarre accident, Ingrid Waverly is forced to leave London with her mother and younger sister, Gabby, trading a world full of fancy dresses and society events for the unfamiliar city of Paris.
In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house Ingrid’s twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn’t a house at all. It’s an abandoned abbey, its roof lined with stone gargoyles that could almost be mistaken for living, breathing creatures.
And Grayson has gone missing.
No one seems to know of his whereabouts but Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant at their new home.
Ingrid is sure her twin isn’t dead—she can feel it deep in her soul—but she knows he’s in grave danger. It will be up to her and Gabby to navigate the twisted path to Grayson, a path that will lead Ingrid on a discovery of dark secrets and otherworldly truths. And she’ll learn that once they are uncovered, they can never again be buried.
Looks so pretty! And sounds so good! I want it now!! What about you guys? Happy reading!

OK, so I got 19 posts in 7 days, and I got a lot of books reread! Can't wait for next week! What about you guys? Happy reading!
So this week I want to read Dark Challenge, Promises in Death, Dance With the Devil, The Darkest Pleasure, Princess in the Spotlight, Kiss of Darkness, Storm Born, Thorn Queen, Iron Crowned, Shadow Heir, Die For Her, If I Should Die, Vengeance Bound, Spartan Frost, Dead Silence, Oath Bound, and False Sight.
WAS SHE MORE THAN HIS MATE?
Julian Savage was golden. Powerful. But tormented. For the brooding hunter walked alone, always alone, far from his Carpathian kind, alien to even his twin. Like his name, his existence was savage. Until he met the woman he was sworn to protect...
When Julian heard Desari sing, rainbows swamped his starving senses. Emotions bombarded his hardened heart. And a dark hunger to possess her flooded his loins, blinding him to the danger stalking him. And even as Desari enflamed him, she dared to defy him with mysterious, unparalleled feminine powers. Was Desari more than his perfect mate? Julian had met his match in this woman, but would she drive him to madness... or save his soul?
Amarylis Coltraine may have recently transferred to the New York City police force from Atlanta, but she's been a cop long enough to know how to defend herself against an assailant. When she's taken down just steps away from her apartment, killed with her own weapon, for Eve the victim isn't just one of us.
Dallas's friend Chief Medical Examiner Morris and Coltraine had started a serious relationship, and from all accounts the two were headed for a happy future together. But someone has put an end to all that. After breaking the news to Morris, Eve starts questioning everyone from Coltraine's squad, informants, and neighbors, while Eve's husband, Roarke, digs into computer data on Coltraine's life back in Atlanta. To their shock, they discover a connection between this case and their own painful, shadowy pasts.
The truth will need to be uncovered one layer at a time, starting with the box that arrives at Cop Central addressed to Eve containing Coltraine's guns, badge, and a note from her killer: You can have them back. Maybe someday soon, I'll be sending yours to somebody else.
But Eve Dallas doesn't take too kindly to personal threats, and she is going to break this case, whatever it takes. And that's a promise.
Zarek's Point of View:
Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.
Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.
Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.
Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.
Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?
Reyes is a man possessed. Bound by the demon of pain, he is forbidden to know pleasure. Yet he craves a mortal woman, Danika Ford, more than breath and will do anything to claim her--even defy the gods.
Danika is on the run. For months she's eluded the Lords of the Underworld, immortal warriors who won't rest until she and her family have been destroyed. But her dreams are haunted by Reyes, the warrior whose searing touch she can't forget. Yet a future together could mean death to all they both hold dear....
No one ever said being a princess was easy.
Just when Mia thought she had the whole princess thing under control, things get out of hand, fast. First there's an unexpected announcement from her mother. Then Grandmère arranges a national primetime interview for the brand-new crown princess of Genovia. On top of that, intriguing, exasperating letters from a secret admirer begin to arrive.
Before she even has the chance to wonder who those letters are from, Mia is swept up in a whirlwind of royal intrigue the likes of which hasn't been seen since volume I of The Princess Diaries.
The woods have always been full of whispers in Transylvania, of terrors that go back centuries to the legendary Vlad Dracul himself. Ignoring their professor's grave warning—beware those who would prey upon the innocent—several visiting students travel into the forest and disappear. Now their professor, Bryan McAllister, believes that a dark cult is at work—and that their next gathering will happen in America.
When psychologist Jessica Fraser is approached by Bryan for her assistance, she is hesitant. Something about Bryan unnerves Jessica deeply, yet she cannot ignore the incredible pull she feels toward him. Now, as reluctant allies, they unite to seek the truth. The search takes them from the forested mountains to dimly lit clubs in New Orleans' French Quarter, where perversion goes beyond sexual to life-threatening.
And everywhere, whispering on the wind, is the dreaded word vampyr.
Set in the romantic and death-defying world of the international bestselling Die for Me trilogy, this digital original novella follows Jules, a brooding, immortal French artist who has fallen in love with his best friend’s girlfriend.
Jules Marchenoir is a revenant-an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save human lives. He’s spent the better part of the last century flirting his way through Paris, but when he met Kate Mercier, the heroine from Amy Plum’s Die for Me trilogy, he knew his afterlife had changed forever and he had found the love of his life. Until Kate fell for his best friend, Vincent. Now Jules is faced with an impossible decision: choosing between his loyal friend and a love truly worth dying for.
I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.
Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France’s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.
It shouldn’t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he’s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.
After what we’ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying—to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others—so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?
The Goddess Test meets Dexter in an edgy, compelling debut about one teen’s quest for revenge… no matter how far it takes her.
Cory Graff is not alone in her head. Bound to a deal of desperation made when she was a child, Cory’s mind houses the Furies—the hawk and the serpent—lingering always, waiting for her to satisfy their bloodlust. After escaping the asylum where she was trapped for years, Cory knows how to keep the Furies quiet. By day, she lives a normal life, but by night, she tracks down targets the Furies send her way. And she brings down Justice upon them.
Cory’s perfected her system of survival, but when she meets a mysterious boy named Niko at her new school, she can’t figure out how she feels about him. For the first time, the Furies are quiet in her head around a guy. But does this mean that Cory’s finally found someone who she can trust, or are there greater factors at work? As Cory’s mind becomes a battlefield, with the Furies fighting for control, Cory will have to put everything on the line to hold on to what she’s worked so hard to build.
I'm Logan Quinn, the deadliest Spartan warrior at Mythos Academy. At least I was — until the day I almost killed Gwen Frost.
Professor Metis and Nickamedes say that I’m fine, that Loki and the Reapers don’t have a hold on me anymore, but I can’t risk it. I can’t risk hurting Gwen again. So I’m leaving Mythos and going somewhere far, far away.
I know Gwen wonders what’s happening to me, whether I’m safe. I can’t tell her, but this is my story…
Violet thought she’d made peace with her unique ability to sense the echoes of the dead and the imprints that cling to their killers…that is until she acquired an imprint of her own. Forced to carry a reminder of the horrible events of her kidnapping, Violet is more determined than ever to lead a normal life. However, the people who run the special investigative team Violet works for have no intention of letting her go.
When someone close to Violet becomes a suspect in a horrific murder, she finds herself pulled into a deadly hunt for a madman with an army of devoted followers. Violet has survived dangerous situations before, but she quickly discovers that protecting those closest to her is far more difficult than protecting herself.
The Tower Syndicate will fall...
The secret daughter of the head of an infamous Skilled crime family, Sera Brandt has hidden her past, her potential and especially her powers. But when a tragedy strikes her other family, Sera needs justice. And the only way to get it is to reveal her heritage–including a rare Skill–and take the reins of the Tower Syndicate from her cunning and malicious aunt.
If he can figure out how...
Kristopher Daniels might have the answer. He's fought the syndicate to protect his sisters, but he'd never realized just how close to the new heir he needed to get....
And if they can survive
Neither is used to trusting. But there's something between them that can't be ignored. And so Sera is on the run with a man she can't figure out, a target on her back and the new knowledge of just how powerful she really is...
All Miranda wants is a normal life. She's determined to move past the horrible truth of her origin as a clone so she can enjoy time with her boyfriend, Peter, and the rest of her friends at school. But Miranda quickly learns that there's no such thing as normal - not for a girl who was raised to be a weapon. When one of her teammates turns rogue, it begins a war that puts the world in jeopardy. Now Miranda must follow her instincts - not her heart - in order to save everything she's fought so hard to keep. with the image of a terrible future seared into her mind, what will she have to sacrifice to protect the people she loves?
Dan Krokos's sequel to the tour de force False Memory is a mind-blowing thriller with high-octane action that will leave readers begging for the final book in this bold and powerful trilogy.

I know Gwen wonders what’s happening to me, whether I’m safe. I can’t tell her, but this is my story…
Violet thought she’d made peace with her unique ability to sense the echoes of the dead and the imprints that cling to their killers…that is until she acquired an imprint of her own.

Insults
I've come up with 1 insult that while can be seriously misconstrued, I think can be used in a variety of situations. Little baby. It's only an insult when called on for someone who is not an actual baby. Anyone, male or female, and kids from the age that they're aware that their actions have the ability to hurt someone, till they die, are included. Basically, it means that you've learned nothing, that the world would be better if you were a little baby, then you couldn't hurt anyone, because little babies are cute and cuddly. Because names like whore or slut, or in historical novels, bastard, well, they really make my blood pressure rise, and this one? Like I said, it can be used in a variety of situations. Yep.

Week 21 Review: Bitten
From Goodreads:
Elena Michaels seems like the typically strong and sexy modern woman. She lives with her architect boyfriend, writes for a popular newspaper, and works out at the gym. She's also a werewolf.
Elena has done all she can to assimilate to the human world, but the man whose bite changed her existence forever, and his legacy, continue to haunt her. Thrown into a desperate war for survival that tests her allegiance to a secret clan of werewolves, Elena must recon with who, and what, she is in this passionate, page-turning novel.
My Review:
I just loved rereading this book! Just seeing the relationship that Elena and Clay had at the beginning of the series, yeah, it was just so good, and I wanted to read more, and I'm so glad that Elena has 4 full length books that she narrates, and then the short stories!
I had forgotten the details of the crimes that the bad guys did, and who exactly who was involved, well, that doesn't matter, because this book happened, and it told me, and I enjoyed going on that ride so much!
I kinda feel sorry for Philip, he saw Elena change, basically, but he was probably telling himself he was hallucinating. And then she leaves him for Clay. Which has to sting, because he was told that they were related. And in Clay's mind, they're married. So yeah, that was an awkward sitation!
I know where they're going to end up, married, with the twins, and Elena taking over as Alpha, but here, they are whiles off from the couple in 13, and yeah, I can't wait to go on that journey with them again, it's going to be great!
This was so good, and I'm really glad that they're making it into a TV show, I can't wait to see it!

Week 21 Review: The Princess Diaries
From Goodreads:
She's just a New York City girl living with her artist mom...
News Flash: Dad is prince of Genovia. (So that's why a limo meets her at the airport!)
Downer: Dad can't have any more kids. (So no heir to the throne.)
Shock of the Century: Like it or not, Mia Thermopolis is prime princess material.
Mia must take princess lessons from her dreaded grandmére, the dowager princess of Genovia, who thinks Mia has a thing or two to learn before she steps up to the throne.
Well, her father can lecture her until he's royal-blue in the face about her princessly duty--no way is she moving to Genovia and leaving Manhattan behind. But what's a girl to do when her name is Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo?
My Review:
This book! So good! And I read it on my birthday, which makes it extra special! Which just adds to the special that was already there because this was the Meg Cabot book that I first read, and got me addicted to her writing!
Ah, Mia and finding out she's a princess, with the hiccuping! And running off afterwards, because yeah, it's a pretty big thing to find out, that you're a princess and all! Mia deals with it pretty well, what with the diary being an outlet for those things!
Her friendship with Tina, over them both needing bodyguards! (I'm so sad that they cut Tina out of the movie!) And I wish that Lars was as funny as Joe was in the movie, but oh, well! And then the rest of her friends!
Dealing with Grandmere, getting the princess lessons! those were just kinda hilarious, what with Grandmere being who she is, and her eyebrows, and Rommel! Some of the things that she learned is helpful, but some of it was just weird!
This is such a great book, and such a great kick off to the series! I can't wait to reread more!

Week 21 Reviews: Shadowfell, Raven Flight
From Goodreads:
Sixteen-year-old Neryn is alone in the land of Alban, where the oppressive king has ordered anyone with magical strengths captured and brought before him. Eager to hide her own canny skill—a uniquely powerful ability to communicate with the fairy-like Good Folk—Neryn sets out for the legendary Shadowfell, a home and training ground for a secret rebel group determined to overthrow the evil King Keldec.
During her dangerous journey, she receives aid from the Good Folk, who tell her she must pass a series of tests in order to recognize her full potential. She also finds help from a handsome young man, Flint, who rescues her from certain death—but whose motives in doing so remain unclear. Neryn struggles to trust her only allies. They both hint that she alone may be the key to Alban’s release from Keldec’s rule.
Homeless, unsure of who to trust, and trapped in an empire determined to crush her, Neryn must make it to Shadowfell not only to save herself, but to save Alban.
From Goodreads:
Neryn has finally found the rebel group at Shadowfell, and now her task is to seek out the elusive Guardians, vital to her training as a Caller. These four powerful beings have been increasingly at odds with human kind, and Neryn must prove her worth to them. She desperately needs their help to use her gift without compromising herself or the cause of overthrowing the evil King Keldec.
Neryn must journey with the tough and steadfast Tali, who looks on Neryn's love for the double agent Flint as a needless vulnerability. And perhaps it is. What Flint learns from the king will change the battlefield entirely—but in whose favor, no one knows.
First review of Shadowfell
My Review:
I loved rereading Shadowfell. I loved reading Raven Flight. Together, Shadowfell once again made it to my most favourite reads of the year, and now Raven Flight joins it, because it was that fantastic, that amazing, that addicting, that something that all great books have!
Yeah, Shadowfell is it's wonderful self, and I really enjoyed it, but mostly I want to talk about Raven Flight because I haven't, yet. Raven Flight picks up right after Shadowfell ends, pretty much right away, and the stakes are raised almost immediately, as they're given an ultimatum, a deadline for support that they really need for their rebellion! We didn't get a lot of Flint together with Neryn. So as a bonus, we get to be inside of Flint's head sometimes!
So yeah, Neryn starts off to go training, and the training itself, was excellent! We got to meet 2 more Guardians, the Hag of the Isles, and the Lord of the North, masters of water and earth, respectively, and what Neyrn learns, and the choices she makes, they were so good to read about!
And that ending! With Regan dead, and Flint deserting his position, yeah, that's going to be pretty explosive! And I felt really bad for Tali, she was usually Regan's guard, but he thought that Neyrn's saftey was more important to the cause. And his death shattered her. And that sucks, because Tali was a really important character in Raven Flight, and we really got to know her, and like her!
One thing that I didn't notice, is that the cover of Shadowfell, there's a red stain on what she's wearing, and I wonder if it's blood, and if so, how did it get there! I mean, I didn't see this seeing as the cover image of my last review of Shadowfell isn't the best of qualities!
Yeah, Shadowfell was just as good as light time, and Raven Flight lived up to that, and could very well have exceeded it. I'm just too close to it to tell whether or not it did!

Week 21 Review: Wait for You
From Goodreads:
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…
My first review of Wait for You
My Review:
I enjoyed this book, that I'm reading it not 3 months after reading it the first time! I just wanted to read more Jennifer L. Armentrout books again, and this fit the bill perfectly, plus, I was wanting some more Avery and Cam book!
I know what happened to Avery. And just reading from the beginning, knowing what's happening, and why, it felt a bit helpless, because it had happened to another girl. And now that other girl is pestering Avery. And yeah, that's not fun!
Cam was just perfect! I wanted to read more about him, but we only get so much book, but I think that we're getting a short story or novella from his POV, or something, so I'm really excited to get inside his head!
I enjoyed reading that ending again, getting some closure, with her parents, I was glad that her dad was moving on a more positive path then her mom. And then with the girl, after that slap, I think things are resolved there!
I just loved rereading this book, it was fantastic, and I can't wait for more!

Week 21 Reviews: Poison Study, Assassin Study, Magic Study, Fire Study, Power Study, Ice Study
From Goodreads:
Choose: A quick death…Or slow poison...
About to be executed for murder, Yelena is offered an extraordinary reprieve. She'll eat the best meals, have rooms in the palace—and risk assassination by anyone trying to kill the Commander of Ixia.
And so Yelena chooses to become a food taster. But the chief of security, leaving nothing to chance, deliberately feeds her Butterfly's Dust—and only by appearing for her daily antidote will she delay an agonizing death from the poison.
As Yelena tries to escape her new dilemma, disasters keep mounting. Rebels plot to seize Ixia and Yelena develops magical powers she can't control. Her life is threatened again and choices must be made. But this time the outcomes aren't so clear...
From Goodreads:
Yelena, the heroine of Maria V. Snyder's stunning debut novel Poison Study, is on her way to her ancestral homeland of Sitia to be reunited with her family and to learn more about her magical powers. An order of execution hangs over her head should she ever return to Ixia. But her true love, Valek, quickly learns that an assassin has taken it upon himself to make sure Yelena doesn't reach her destination.
As Ixia's chief of security, and a highly skilled assassin himself, can Valek track down the killer in time to save Yelena's life?
From Goodreads:
You know your life is bad when you miss your days as a poison taster...
With her greatest enemy dead, and on her way to be reunited with the family she'd been stolen from long ago, Yelena should be pleased. But though she has gained her freedom, she can't help feeling isolated in Sitia. Her Ixian background has changed her in many ways—and her newfound friends and relatives don't think it's for the better...
Despite the turmoil, she's eager to start her magic training—especially as she's been given one year to harness her power or be put to death. But her plans take a radical turn when she becomes involved with a plot to reclaim Ixia's throne for a lost prince—and gets entangled in powerful rivalries with her fellow magicians.
If that wasn't bad enough, it appears her brother would love to see her dead. Luckily, Yelena has some old friends to help her with all her new enemies...
From Goodreads:
The apprenticeship is over—now the real test has begun.
When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder—able to capture and release souls—spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before....
Honor sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself—and save the land she holds dear.
From Goodreads:
Ari and Janco deal with a Sandseed Story Weaver and a cocky young soldier while Valek is off helping Yelena.
From Goodreads:
This is a short story about Yelena and Valek as they race to keep the powerful Ice Moon from a rogue magician.
My first reviews of Poison Study, Magic Study, Fire Study
My Review:
I loved reading these so much! They were just so entertaining, they were themselves, and yeah, it was just great to read them, and to add in the short stories? That just made the whole thing so much better! I enjoyed rereading them so much!
It was a pure joy to reread these books, because it's such a great series, one that I love to bits, and I just loved to see these characters go on these journeys again, learn from their mistakes, and move forward again!
I love love the relationships that Yelena has, from Valek and that they're heart mates, and her relationships with Ari and Janco, and Maren, because they're just fantastic, and yeah, so much fun to read!
Some parts were hard to read, like dealing with the fire world, and having Roze being a traitor, but yeah, all in all, it worked out pretty well for all the good guys, and things were happening for them, and it was all good!
Enjoyed rereading these so much, can't wait to reread the Glass series next!
