Week 17 Review: The Rosewood Hunt

From Goodreads:
Lily Rosewood dreams of taking over her family's company one day. Her grandmother, Rosewood Inc's current chair, has always encouraged her, and Lily can't wait for Gram to teach her everything she needs to know to run the business.

But then Gram dies suddenly, and Lily's world is upended. When it's revealed that Gram's quarter of a billion dollar fortune is missing, Lily can't fathom what her future will hold now.

Even in death, Gram has a few tricks up her couture sleeve. A last letter from her with a cryptic clue sends Lily and three other teens on a treasure hunt that could change their lives forever-if they can survive it. And if they pull it off, they may be rewarded with more than just money. But they're not the only ones hunting for Gram's treasure, and soon the hunt becomes more dangerous than they ever could have imagined.

Irresistible intrigue, captivating suspense, a swoony friends-to- rivals-to-lovers romance, and heartbreaking betrayal drive this thrilling debut novel to its explosive end.

My Review:
I had a really fantastic time reading this book! That it can be compared to The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, a favourite author and favourite series of mine, yeah, I had to check it out! Following the hunt that her Gram left her was so entertaining to read!

Lily has almost always lived a life of privilege. Her grandmother runs a very successful company in fashion, and Lily dreams of the day that she'll have her place at the company. But then her Gran passes unexpectedly and her will throws a curveball.

I loved watching Lily and the group that her Gran intended her to be with, go on this scavenger hunt that was left to them. The way that each person is connected, as we got their story. Why Lily's friend group, including her cousin, ended distancing themselves from her.

Throughout the book, we learn about the past of the town and how the Rosewood family is connected, of the harm and the good that they've done. Like the situation with Lily's father. That ending was shocking, and oh, so great to read!

This was a fantastic read, and I can't wait to read more by Mackenzie Reed!
