We Have the Cover of GhostWalkers #18!!!!

OK, so I got 38 posts in 7 days, and yeah, I had a great read, I read a lot, and yeah I can't wait for next week! What about you guys? Happy reading!

So this week I want to read Poison Study, Assassin Study, Magic Study, Fire Study, Power Study, Ice Study, The Last Graduate, and Mile High with a Vampire.

A budding dark sorceress determined not to use her formidable powers uncovers yet more secrets about the workings of her world in the stunning sequel to A Deadly Education, the start of Naomi Novik's groundbreaking crossover series.

At the Scholomance, El, Orion, and the other students are faced with their final year—and the looming specter of graduation, a deadly ritual that leaves few students alive in its wake. El is determined that her chosen group will survive, but it is a prospect that is looking harder by the day as the savagery of the school ramps up. Until El realizes that sometimes winning the game means throwing out all the rules . .

In the latest Argeneau novel from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands, an immortal and her mortal pilot are on the run from hungry vampires...and discover they're life mates along the way.

Jet Lassiter likes being a pilot for Argeneau Inc. Perks included travelling to exotic locations and meeting interesting people, even if they are the blood-sucking kind. He's living the good life, until his plane goes down in the mountains and four of his passengers are gravely injured. They need blood to heal... and Jet is the only source.

Quinn Peters never wanted to be immortal. Once a renowned heart surgeon, she was turned against her will and now she has to drink blood to survive. Before she can ask how her "life" can get any worse, she's in a plane crash. One of the few survivors, Quinn is desperate to get the mortal pilot to safety before her fellow immortals succumb to their blood lust and drain Jet dry.

But hungry vampires are the least of their worries—the crash wasn't an accident, and someone is trying to kill Quinn. Will she and Jet find their happily ever after as life mates, or will her assassin find her first?

Week 38 Review: The Pretenders

From Goodreads:
In this conclusion to The Similars duology, Emma must figure out who she really is, decide between two boys with the same face, and stop a dangerous plan based on revenge.

Emma is still reeling from the events of her junior year at Darkwood. Not only is her best friend, Oliver, shockingly alive, but the boy she loves—his Similar, Levi—is still on the island where he grew up, stranded with his deranged creator.

More importantly, she is grappling with who she really is. Emma can't accept the hard truths she learned last year and refuses to share her secrets with anyone, isolating herself from her friends and Ollie.

But when more of the Similars' creator's plot is revealed, Emma and her friends will have to try to stop him from putting a plan into motion that could destroy everyone she loves.

My Review:
I enjoyed this book, though I do wish that I'd read it closer to when I read the first book, because I forgot a lot of what happened in that book, to these characters, how they related to each other, and what threats they were facing. I eventually got it, but it would've been a more enjoyable experience if I'd read them closer together!

Sometimes I don't know what I felt for Emma. She got put in these situations, but she couldn't do much about them. And I felt bad for her, but I also felt so frustrated. There were two near the beginning, one with the kids that don't want the clones at the school, and the other with the Headmaster, and Emma basically does nothing, and walks away. And it was just so frustrating that they were getting away with it!

She's in a interesting position, she has all these secrets about the Similars, and in the political climate is a hot topic, and emotions were heated. But then there's this new plot that's uncovered, and things unravelled from there, it was a pretty intense ride!

But oh, that big twist! It worked so well and it was so shocking, and put all the pieces together and was just so darned clever! Loved how that worked out, it was a really fantastic ending! And oh, it was just so satisfying!

I had a really great time reading this book, and I've love to read more by Rebecca Hanover!

WWW Wednesday #544, September 15th

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you'll read next?

Thanks to MizB of Should Be Writing now A Daily Rhythm for starting this meme! And thanks now to Taking on a World of Words for reviving it!

I'm currently reading The Dead and the Dark, and it's such a great read/listen!

I read When Sorrows Come, and wow, loved it, it was another great book in this series!

I'm going to be reading The Pretenders and I can't wait, I loved the first book and I can't wait to find out what's going to happen next!

What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 51 Review: The Similars

From Goodreads:
When six clones join Emmaline's prestigious boarding school, she must confront the heartbreak of seeing her dead best friend's face each day in class.

The Similars are all anyone can talk about at the elite Darkwood Academy. Who are these six clones? What are the odds that all of them would be Darkwood students? Who is the madman who broke the law to create them? Emma couldn't care less. Her best friend, Oliver, died over the summer and all she can think about is how to get through her junior year without him. Then she comes face-to-heartbreaking-face with Levi—Oliver's exact DNA replica and one of the Similars.

Emma wants nothing to do with the Similars, but she keeps getting pulled deeper and deeper into their clique, uncovering dark truths about the clones and her prestigious school along the way. But no one can be trusted…not even the boy she is falling for who has Oliver's face.

My Review:
This book was really awesome! We got to deal with the mystery of what Oliver tried to tell her, and deal with her emotions when the Similars come to school and Levi being Oliver's clone, and so much more! It was a really great book!

I felt bad for Emma. She's basically alone, her mom died when she was young and her dad is distant, her best friend just died, and she only really has one other friend. While that isn't easy, she does deal with it and lives her life. And then everything starts happening, and yeah, I really enjoyed reading about her going on this journey! Especially that end! That was pretty shocking! So many revelations!

What I really loved about this book, is that it's less of a discussion about the moral rights around cloning, but more of a show, not tell, demonstration, we see the realities of what's going on. Sure, the characters do have conversations that touch on this topic, but it's not to preach, but to explain how it affects them, personally.

There were a few times in this book were I was like, why don't you contact the police? This is wrong, you know that, you want to do something about it, why don't go to the police? It's not like the bad guys are specifically targeting them, well, Emma. Sure, the police didn't do a good job with what they were told about, but this was bigger than that, and probably would've involved a lot of police scrutiny-like, all of the country, maybe the world, vs. just the people in the area and maybe the families of the students. Yeah.

Loved this book, and I'm really excited for the next book!
