OK, so I got 21 posts in 7 days, and it was a pretty great week, lots of fantastic books, and I can't wait for this coming week! So many great books coming out! What about you guys? Happy reading!

Week 8 Review: Dreaming Darkly

My Review:
Wow, this book was dark and twisted and down to earth-but with questionable events that could be Ivy going crazy or maybe something is up. There was just so much atmosphere, and it was so great to read this book!

Ivy is jaded. She does start to connect with people in this book, but given that it started with telling the story of how her mother tried to drown her when she was a kid, well, it's understandable that she has some problems with letting people close.

Coming to Darkhaven, her family home, to an uncle she didn't know she had, was pretty interesting. Like she says, she's been raised in cheap motels and trailer parks, and those were located in the landlocked states, not a little island on the New England coast. So there's that to adjust to.

Oh, and there's Doyle, who tells her about the feud between their families, and the curse on hers because of it. Yeah, I really enjoyed her skeptical side. And then things start happening, and it's like, what's going on? It doesn't come up in Ivy's head, but I was wondering if it was supernatural, because there was a lot of freaky things going on. It was so fascinating to read!

This book was a really fantastic read, and I enjoyed it so much!

Week 13 Review: The Mirrored Shard

My Review:
Gah, this was a really fantastic book! I've enjoyed this whole series, and while I'm sad to say goodbye, this was a heck of a good book to send us-and Aoife and gang-off! So good! So entertaining! So much going on!

So first off, I just want to say, I know where the titles for the first two books come from, from the world, and what was going in each respective book. But for this one, I didn't read a reference to mirrors, broken or otherwise that I remember. Unless I read it too fast. Yeah.

Now, this book dealt with two big things-bringing Dean back from the Deadlands, and then dealing with the can of worms she opened during her time in the Arctic, with what she woke up. And they have about equal time dealing with them!

Really great ending! She beat that big old nasty old one, locked him up, so it's pretty assured that the rest of the old ones aren't going to misbehave. And she got Dean back! So yeah, lots of good things going on!

I enjoyed this book so much, it was just so good, and a great ending to a great series, I'm sad to say goodbye, but there's always rereading!

Week 51 Review: Kiss Me Deadly

My Review:
This was such a great collection of YA paranormal romance! And I loved reading every one of them, though there were ones that were more my favourite then others, simply because I liked the author more, from reading their books.

I loved the wide, wide variety of paranormal creatures that there were in this! They were all so fantastic to read about, and some of them were some of the usuals, some were the usuals with unusual takes on them, and some were just completely weird, and I enjoyed all of them!

I love the fact that this is kinda a series of anthologies, because I think that some, or a few, of the stories might continue over from one to the other! The trick, I guess, is reading them in order, because they're not numbered! Maybe publishing order...

Reading this variety of stories, was just a really fantastic experience! They were so amazing and different, from fun to not, and all those differences were what made them different stories and awesome to read!

I loved this anthology, and now I need more!

OK, so I got 29 posts in 7 days, and I read some really great books, and I can't wait for next week!
 
So this week I want to read Honor Bound, Erebos, Monstrous Beauty, Seraphina, Run from Fear, The Peculiars, and Shadow and Bone. I know, not that much, but I'm going to try just telling myself that I want to read 1 ebook a day! It makes making this post way shorter!

Week 17 Review: The Nightmare Garden

From Goodreads:
Everything Aoife thought she knew about the world was a lie. There is no Necrovirus. And Aoife isn't going to succumb to madness because of a latent strain—she will lose her faculties because she is allergic to iron. Aoife isn't human. She is a changeling—half human and half from the land of Thorn. And time is running out for her.

When Aoife destroyed the Lovecraft engine she released the monsters from the Thorn Lands into the Iron Lands and now she must find a way to seal the gates and reverse the destruction she's ravaged on the world that's about to poison her.

My Review:
Oh, this was a really fantastic book! Loved it a lot! So much happens in this book, a lot of world building, and then things that hurt, and then things that just make you see how small you are in the scope of things!

So yeah, Aoife's been told the truth, and while it means some things that are good (like the fact that there's no Necrovirus) but that means that she's a changeling, that her mom's for the land of Thorn. So yeah, that's something to deal with.

This book, we learned a lot more about this world. We also so a lot more of it, seeing that we ended in the Arctic, with all that happening! And man, that was a really great ending! Though hard to read, because Aoife's got some hard decisions to make very soon!

Loved this book a lot, and I can't wait to read more, 2/3rds done this series!

Last Letter, First Letter Reading Challenge Update 5

OK, so I have I've been doing some more reading, and I read The Nightmare Garden, Pants on Fire, The Savage Grace, and A Temptation of Angels.Yep. Happy reading!

What it is:

You pick a book, read it. Then you look at the last letter of the title, for example, "The Adventures of Tom Saywer." Then you take that last letter, and search you TBR piles for a book starting with the last letter, so coninuting the example, someone could read "Rotters" next, and then a title that starts with "s."

Rules:

2. Read!
3. The last letter of the book you read must be the first letter of the next book you read.
4. Words like "the," "a," "and," and those such don't count as the first letter.
