Week 39 Review: Don't Look Back

From Goodreads:
Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.

Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.

But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?

My first review of Don't Look Back
My Review:
Reading this book was so fantastic! I loved reading it the first time, and I was looking forward to rereading it! It was just so easy to read, and the pages were flying, as Sam learns more about the time she's missing, trying to figure out what happened to Cassie!

Waking up with no personal memories, that's such a difficult situation, given that she doesn't even know her name, and the hospital ends up sending her home with people who are essentially strangers, including her parents and her twin brother.

Learning that your former self was as a bully, and people are expecting her to still be one, that was something that Sam had to deal with. Given that she's also investigation what had happened-along with who was sending her these creepy notes, her life is definitely in turmoil. That her sanity is in question, just ups the terror of what was going on.

I had forgotten who the bad guy is, but I also have a tendency to read the end before I get there in the book, so I was able to see those interactions, and see the seeds that were planted. Who was behind it was shocking, and pretty awful, especially given who it was and what they'd done.

Absolutely loved reading this book and I can't wait to read more by Jennifer L. Armentrout!
