Dark magic courses through Zarya's veins—magic that could save countless lives… or doom her world.
Shattered by Rabin's betrayal, Zarya vows to leave all thoughts of him behind. In the dangerous city of Ishaan, she joins an ancient struggle for freedom.
Ishaan is a city of violent contrasts. Nobles and scholars live in golden luxury. But thousands of vanshaj workers are born into magical slavery—in punishment for a crime forgotten centuries ago.
Zarya is outraged, and certain that the fate of the vanshaj is linked to her own forbidden magic. She joins a band of rebels battling for their freedom, and with Yasen at her side she throws herself into the fight.
On a deadly raid, Zarya uncovers the key to freeing the vanshaj for ever. But to use it, she must harness a power that could tear her apart.
Only one person can give Zarya the strength to reach her destiny. The one who ignited her magic. Who brings her more pleasure and more pain than any other. The last person she wants to see right now. Rabin.
With searing chemistry, a stunning world, and heart-racing action, The Nightfire Quartet is a fast-paced and addictive fantasy romance that's perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Carissa Broadbent, and Rebecca Yarros. If you love slow-burning passion and razor-sharp banter, dive in to discover your new fantasy obsession.
My Review:
Reading this book was so great! I've really enjoyed this series, and her writing as a whole, and I was looking forward to reading this one! With everything that happened in book 2, I had to know what was going to come as a result, and it was so enjoyable to read!
Zarya is in the country that her mom was Queen of, that her half of her DNA is still ruling. But with the prophecy of how she's going to be the one to free them, presumably the vanshaj, well, the way the royal family treats them is awful, which puts them at odds, not that they knew about it, or her.
I really enjoyed watching as she worked on her magic, because she was under a lot of pressure, mainly that she put on herself. And when you add in Rabin and their complicated relaitonship and how he broke her trust, yeah, her life was very much in chaos.
Honestly, I'm so worried about the 4th book. Like, maybe Rabin is right and her dad isn't an awful guy. But maybe he's wrong, and her mother is right, and she's going to him. So I'm scared about how it's going to play out, but I need to know!
Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to see how the series is going to end!
