My Review:
It was so great to reread the first book, and then read the rest of the series! I just wish that I'd known going in that the first book had been republished and split into novellas and updated. Then I could've read the most up to date. Apparently there could've been more, but there was a bad situation. Boo.

You Are So Undead to Me just introduced us to an amazing world, I loved the idea of Settlers, and how that all works! I wouldn't want to be Megan, because yeah, it doesn't sound pleasant, but it's such an interesting concept!

There was a lot going on in Undead Much! Given that her best friend was locked up for what she did in the previous book, you'd think that would be it. But there's the dead guy seer who won't go down and seems connected to her. Plus the settler-resistant zombies! Yeah! So great to read!

So Valentine's Day of the Undead, yeah, it was so great to read! It added a whole bunch to the world with the magic and being part witch, and with the bad guy and all! And I wish we could've gotten more, but alas, it's unlikely to happen! Too bad because it could've been so great!

Loved reading this series, because it was just so freaking great!

Week 51 Review: Dress Codes for Small Towns

My Review:
This book was a lot of fun to read! I loved the group of friends and the dynamics of their relationships with each other! I loved the antics that they got into, even if there was a cost. The erase board is a part of their collective history! It's important!

Billie is not your girly-girl. She's more of a tomboy, but she does have some stereotypical girl character qualities. She has her art projects that she never seems to finish. She's thought of as the mom of the group. She's also still figuring out who she is.

I really enjoyed her relationship with the "dad" of the group, Woods. It seems kinda inevitable that they would get together. But their relationship with each other doesn't fit that way, it seems! But there was a lot of conflict and adventures along the way!

Billie learns a lot about herself as the book progresses. She's still the one who'll come up with plans that might end in chaos, but will mean a lot of fun along the way. And she had even stronger relationships with her friends, and I just loved that! They were just so nuanced!

I just really enjoyed reading this book-it was a lot of fun!

My Review:
Oh, it was so great to read these books! While I desperately want the last book in the Courtlight series, it was so great to be introduced to Sara and her world! She's a warrior, and her family's been beaten down, but they're not out yet! Very different from Ciardis!

Sara was pretty bad ass, she's been training as a warrior for basically her whole life. And then tragedy strikes and her father is killed as a traitor and Sara's life is turned upside down, though this book starts after the fact.

She has a justifiable anger towards the world, and it fuels her. Her journey is in no way easy, and it's just beginning-at first, survival. And then her mom is killed and then it's justice/revenge. It wasn't easy to read because it was hard for Sara, but it just pulled me in to read!

The beginning of Illusion, I was right there with Sara, of the unfairness of what had happened. Given her mission, it would've been better to let that simmer below the surface, especially since it weakened her position. But yeah, Sara has integrity like that!

Loved these books, and I can't wait to see where Sara's journey will take her next!

Week 51 Review: Ever the Hunted, Ever the Brave

My Review:
These books were awesome to read! I loved the world, the characters, the writing, the plot, everything was just so freaking amazing! They were both such wonderful books, and I can't wait for the spin off/companion books staring King Aodren and Lirra!

To be honest, I was more captivated by Ever the Hunted than Ever the Brave. It was more exciting, and being introduced to this world, plus the whole, guy she was kinda in love with seeming to be the one who killed her father, thing. Yeah.

The Channelers, yeah, that was all so fantastic to read about! That most of the citizens of Malam are pretty prejudicial against them, yeah, that sucks. But things are looking up-that Britta saved Aodren and all!

Ever the Brave was different in that it had multiple POV's, so attention was spread a little thin. Though it was interesting being in Aodren and Cohen's heads! Because they both played important roles in the book!

Loved reading these two books, and I can't wait for Once a King!

Last Letter, First Letter Reading Challenge Update 68

So I read my next LLFL Book! It's only been about 2 months this time, but the year is almost done. Ah, well.

So I read Undead Much!

Yep. Happy reading!

What it is:

You pick a book, read it. Then you look at the last letter of the title, for example, "The Adventures of Tom Saywer." Then you take that last letter, and search you TBR piles for a book starting with the last letter, so continuing the example, someone could read "Rotters" next, and then a title that starts with "s."

Rules:
1. Have fun!
2. Read!
3. The last letter of the book you read must be the first letter of the next book you read.
4. Words like "the," "a," "and," and those such don't count as the first letter.
5. If a letter becomes overused, like d, e, l, w, ext, and you run out of books that you really want to read for this challenge, cycle in letters that don't often get used like a, b, i, k, p, ext, and note what you cycle in, where!
