From Goodreads:
Danger lurks in the shadows and desire shimmers in the sultry heat as leopard shifter Drake Donovan is sent to a Louisiana bayou to investigate a murder. He's ready for anything except the insatiable hunger that rocks him when he meets Saria Boudreaux, a woman with a compelling motive-and ability-to distract him from the task at hand...
From Goodreads:
#1 New York Times bestselling author "Christine Feehan knows how to weave a tale of action, suspense and paranormal passion" (Romance Junkies). Now, she’s back -- and the New Orleans nights have never felt so torrid or so dangerous...
From a tough stint in the armed forces to stalking the unknown as a bayou cop, leopard-shifter Remy Boudreux has been served well by his uncanny gifts. And right now, New Orleans could use a homicide detective like Remy.
A serial killer is loose, snatching victims from the French Quarter with pitiless rage and unnatural efficiency. But something else is drawing Remy into the twilight -- a beautiful jazz singer bathed night after night in a flood of blood-red neon.
Sultry, mysterious, and as seductive as her songs, she’s luring Remy deeper into the shadows than he ever imagined. And as their passions swell, his keen instinct for survival will be challenged like never before. By a killer -- and by a woman.
My Review:
These were 2 great books in a pretty great series! I really enjoyed these books, because we learned more about their species-they call their tribes, "lairs" which was pretty cool, and yeah, we got to go the the Louisiana bayou, have Drake and Saria's story, then Remy and Bijou's story!
One of my favourite lines from Leopard's Prey: "...Drake says Jake is freakin' out." Drake, Jake, I didn't realize till now, were so close in name! That, I didn't know, and yeah, Jake is freaking out because Emma is pregnant, especially since how it ended last time.
I loved the mysteries in both books, first that Saria finding bodies, and then a killer coming back from a 4 year in New Orleans (he'd been killing in other places) and Bijou's manger trying to kill her to get the insurance, having a stalker who's possessive of her, yet wants her money, yeah, there were a few mysteries in these books!
And of course there's romance! Because they're Christine Feehan books, of course they have romance, steamy, hot, but yet a bit repetitive, even on the first reads for these ones, and yeah, the whole biting thing, and the male staking their claims.
Really enjoyed these books, and I can't wait for Cat's Lair!
