Week 20 Reviews: Silver Silence, Ain't No Party Like a Bear Party, Ocean Light

From Goodreads:
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh introduces a bold new chapter in her extraordinary paranormal romance saga with the Psy-Changeling Trinity series. Wild passion will encounter the darkest of betrayal...

Control. Precision. Family. These are the principles that drive Silver Mercant. At a time when the fledgling Trinity Accord seeks to unite a divided world, with Silver playing a crucial role as director of a worldwide emergency response network, wildness and chaos are the last things she needs in her life. But that's exactly what Valentin Nikolaev, alpha of the StoneWater Bears, brings with him.

Valentin has never met a more fascinating woman. Though Silver is ruled by Silence—her mind clear of all emotion—Valentin senses a whisper of fire around her. That's what keeps him climbing apartment buildings to be near her. But when a shadow assassin almost succeeds in poisoning Silver, the stakes become deadly serious…and Silver finds herself in the heart of a powerful bear clan.

Her would-be assassin has no idea what their poison has unleashed...

From Goodreads:
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh dives beneath the surface of her Psy-Changeling world into a story of passionate devotion and selfless love...

Security specialist Bowen Knight has come back from the dead. But there's a ticking time bomb in his head: a chip implanted to block telepathic interference that could fail at any moment--taking his brain along with it. With no time to waste, he should be back on land helping the Human Alliance. Instead, he's at the bottom of the ocean, consumed with an enigmatic changeling...

Kaia Luna may have traded in science for being a chef, but she won't hide the facts of Bo's condition from him or herself. She's suffered too much loss in her life to fall prey to the dangerous charm of a human who is a dead man walking. And she carries a devastating secret Bo could never imagine...

But when Kaia is taken by those who mean her deadly harm, all bets are off. Bo will do anything to get her back--even if it means striking a devil's bargain and giving up his mind to the enemy...

My first review of Silver Silence, Ocean Light
My Review:
Man, I really enjoyed reading these books again! Both Silver, Valentine, Bo and Kaia are wonderful characters and I loved reading about them! I was really excited for this reread, because bears! They're just so hilarious! I wasn't planning on reading Ocean Light, but I wasn't sure if events had happened or if they were just in my head, so I had to read it again!

Having reread this whole series, I'm pretty sure the Psy who most likely did experiments on Valentin's dad were the same ones who did the same thing to SnowDancers. I don't think I remembered that SnowDancers also went through something similar, given the amount of time between when I first read Kiss of Snow and Silver Silence, so go rereads!

For most of the book, Kaia keeps her changeling form a secret. And I don't know if I subconsciously remembered or what, but my guess was correct, which is always a fun feeling! But it was so great to read it again, having my guess and have it turn out to be correct!

My memory is pretty poor. So I kinda thought that the situation with needing humans in the Psy net was resolved. And I thought that Ming was dead. Alas, both problems are still to be faced. I can't wait to read about them though!

There's a few things that I would like in the future. One, Alice. I really hope that she is a future heroine, either in a full length novel or a novella. I'm not picky, but I really want her to find happiness in this time. Two, its mentioned that the changelings have trouble conceiving. But we've never had a couple who've said that. I don't want them to suffer (besides for readers everywhere enjoyment) but a) it's a real issue that people face b) it's a show vs. tell thing, and we've only been told so far, c) it's something personal for the characters to face and deal with. Yeah.

Loved reading these so much, and I can't wait for Wolf Rain, it sounds fantastic!
