Sookie's boyfriend has been very distant-in another state, distant. Now she's off to Mississippi to mingle with the underworld at Club Dead-a little haunt where the vampire elite go to chill out. But when she finally finds Bill—caught in an act of betrayal—she's not sure whether to save him...or sharpen some stakes.
So I'm reading this book, and knowing about the TV show, and their differences and stuff, and I can't remember where exactly in the show I was when I read this, but knowing those things, well, that made this book pretty great!
Because we meet a new character that has a pretty big part in the upcoming books, Alcide, and yeah, he was a pretty great character, and this was his introduction! That was great, and I can't wait to read more about him!
Oh. Bubba. We knew you as Elvis, and the hints to the person he was before he was turned, well, they were so hilarious! The idea that Elvis Presley is walking around as a brain damaged vampire? I'm two generations removed from the one that really knew him and his music, but I've still heard of him!
We did get to see a different side to Eric, which makes me wonder if he's going to be a love interest, after all that Bill's done in this book! And the way things ended, ouch! But on to new and better things for Sookie and the series!
Enjoyed this book a lot, can't wait to read more!
