Everything is in ruins.
A devastating plague has decimated the population. And those who are left live in fear of catching it as the city crumbles to pieces around them.
So what does Araby Worth have to live for?
Nights in the Debauchery Club, beautiful dresses, glittery make-up . . . and tantalizing ways to forget it all.
But in the depths of the club—in the depths of her own despair—Araby will find more than oblivion. She will find Will, the terribly handsome proprietor of the club. And Elliott, the wickedly smart aristocrat. Neither boy is what he seems. Both have secrets. Everyone does.
And Araby may find something not just to live for, but to fight for—no matter what it costs her.
My Review:
This was a fantastic book! With such fantastic characters, world building, writing, and twists, man, did I enjoyed this book! It was just freaking good, and I just wanted more! And a great start of the series, this half of the duology!
Araby was really awesome, daughter of the guy that created the masks that filter the air individually, so they don't die of the plague that has been killing a good deal of the people off. So yeah, her family is pretty well off, now.
But society has pretty much collapsed, bringing around a kingdom, and yeah, the prince was not a nice guy, even though his relatives are her friends, like Elliot, though she really only gets to know Elliot a bit in this book!
There were a lot of great twists in this book, with Will and Elliott, and the sides that they're on, the goals they have, and all that. Not so fun for Araby in a lot of that, but she survives, which is more then others can say!
Really fantastic book, and I can't wait for the next book, which is going to be so great!
