Teaser Tuesday #419, April 23rd

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Today's teaser comes from The Host by Stephenie Meyer, page 123.
