Week 17 Review: The Isles of the Gods

From Goodreads:
When Selly's father leaves her high and dry in the port of Kirkpool, she has no intention of riding out the winter on land while he sails to adventure in the north seas. But any plans to follow him are dashed when a handsome stranger with tell-tale magician's marks on his arm boards her ship, presenting her and the crew with a dangerous mission: to cross the Crescent Sea without detection so he can complete a ritual on the sacred Isles of the Gods. What starts as a leisure cruise will lead to acts of treason and sheer terror on the high seas, bringing two countries to the brink of war, two strangers closer than they ever thought possible and stirring two dangerous gods from centuries of slumber...

My Review:
I loved reading this book! I love her writing, and I was excited to pick up this book, it sounded like a lot of fun, and I enjoyed sinking into this world with these characters, and following along with their story! It was such a fun adventure to read!

I've read a lot of Amie Kaufman's books, I think all of them that have currently being published, and I was excited to see what her first fantasy story would be. The set up with the magic and the politics and the gods, was so interesting to read! The story was fast-paced, and I just had to keep reading and finding out what was going to happen next!

This cast of characters were vibrant, and getting to know them and their different personalities. That there were conflicting desires between some of them complicated matters, and some past events clouded the current ones.

That ending though, was such so entertaining to read! I'm so excited for the sequel, I need to know what's going to happen next, how they're going to deal with this situation. Because it's going to have a pretty big impact, and I'm just hoping that they'll make it out okay.

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to see how things develop in the sequel, which I think is the last book in this series, making it a duology, I think I saw. I can't wait to read it!
