My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy — a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.
But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why—especially since I should have been the one who died. . .
My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! So good and entertaining, and just so well written! So great and great to read! I did read the prequel novella, so yeah, that was really great to read before reading this, because it was what actually started the series off!
The one thing that I really loved about this book, was the characters. They were interesting, and from Gwen with the power of touch, to know the past of the item, to see it, is awesome! Logan, the Spartan that can pick up anything, and know how to kill with it. Daphne, the warrior girl with the pink sparkles! Carson, the musician warrior! Oh, and the adults! There were some really interesting ones there!
The whole illusion thing, when Gwen was thinking of the things that she'd used her power on, around 170, I guessed what was going on there, and yeah, that was just awesome! Because yeah, that led to more things happening!
Oh, that ending! It seems like that was a one off, to have a bad guy embedded in the good guy's school. So I wonder how that's going to play off! But at least Gwen is Nix's champion, and has her friends with her!
Such a great book, I enjoyed it a lot, can't wait to read more!
