Will the Time Come #438, October 24th

Every Thursday I am going to list a book which I really want to read/keep meaning to get to. These are mostly books which have been on my shelf for awhile now but don't have to be, maybe you got it two weeks ago and really want to read it! Thanks to Jodie from Books for Company for this meme!

A frozen world. Monstrous Secrets. Forbidden love.

In the frozen world of the Frost, only mysterious blue flowers that bloom in the snow keep the monsters at bay. The air is icy cold. It's easy to get lost. One wrong move and a person could end up dead.

Lia Weaver knows this better than anyone.

After monsters kill her parents, Lia must keep the family farm running in their place. She follows the rules of the village: Don't talk to outsiders. Don't go into the Frost at night. Don't ask too many questions. Rules keep her family alive in this harsh and unforgiving world.

But when her sister finds a handsome fugitive bleeding to death in the forest at dusk, Lia surprises herself and does the unthinkable.

She saves his life.

Giving shelter to the fugitive could get her in trouble. The Elders have always described the advanced society of people beyond the Frost, the “Farthers,” as ruthless and cruel. But Lia is startled to find that Gabe is empathetic and intelligent…and handsome. She might even be falling in love with him.

But time is running out. The monsters from the forest circle the farm at night. The village leader is starting to ask questions. Farther soldiers are searching for Gabe. Lia must locate a secret organization called the Thorns to help Gabe escape to safety, but every move she makes puts her in more danger.

Is compassion—and love—worth the risk?

Why the time hasn't come yet...
