Teaser Tuesday #340, October 17th

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page

Today's teaser comes from A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet, page 95.

"Since kidnapping clearly doesn't bother you, why me? I can't do anything."
