Week 51 Review: This Scot of Mine

From Goodreads:
A daring deception…

Desperate to escape her vile fiancé, Lady Clara devises a bold lie—that she's pregnant with another man's child. With her reputation in tatters, Clara flees to Scotland to live out her days in disgrace, resigned to her fate as a spinster…until she claps eyes on the powerful and wickedly handsome Laird Hunt MacLarin.

She's the answer to his curse…

Laird of an ancient clan, Hunt needs an heir, but he comes from a long line of men cursed to die before the birth of their firstborn. When the Duke of Autenberry approaches him with a proposition—marry my ruined sister—it seems the perfect solution. Even better, the defiant lass stirs him to his very soul.

No escaping the truth...

Except marriage cannot set them free. No matter how much Hunt desires her. No matter how much Clara burns for him. Soon she is falling for her husband, but is love enough to end the curse? Or is the tragic history of the MacLarin Clan doomed to repeat itself?

My Review:
This was a really fantastic book! I was planning on reading it this week, but I didn't expect how fast I read it, like, it seemed like it only took me about 2 hours, I was that sucked in by the story. It was a quick read, and really great!

We've known Clara since the first book in the series. We were only introduced to Hunt in the previous book, but enough to know that he was an interesting character. I really enjoyed reading about the two of them falling in love!

The whole situation with the curse, as well as the lie about her pregnancy, come together in a situation where mishaps and misunderstandings are bound to happen. Some where kinda hilarious, and some were kinda serious, because he does believe he's going to die, but they were all really great to read about!

My one little complaint is that I wish we could've had a full explanation of how bad her ex-fiance was. We got little hints, dropped comments or thoughts, but I felt like we didn't get a in-your-face explanation. We know that something along these lines happened, and we know it was bad, but I wish we could've gotten the full picture. Unless he's the star of the next book, given the title...

Loved reading this book, it was really enjoyable!
