Week 22 Reviews: Seeing Darkness, Deadly Touch

From Goodreads:
She's being murdered.

It was supposed to be a fun girls' weekend in Salem, but when a past-life regression session instead sends a terrifying vision of murder to Kylie Connelly, she's shaken and doesn’t know what to think. Worse, later she identifies the attacker from her vision: he's a prominent local politician.

Special Agent Jon Dickson of the FBI's Krewe of Hunters is on the trail of a suspected serial killer based on the scantest of clues and unreliable witness testimony. When he realizes Kylie's vision might be his best lead, he must gain her trust and get close enough to guide her new talent. Though she doubts herself, the danger Kylie sees is all too real—and the pair will have to navigate a murderer's twisted passions and deceptions to stop the killer from claiming another victim.

From Goodreads:
SHE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND THE BODY

When Raina Hamish tries on a dress in a Miami boutique, she has a terrifyingly accurate vision of a murdered corpse in the murky shadows of the Everglades. She wants to help, but who would believe her when she can hardly believe herself?

Special Agent Axel Tiger has returned to Florida to help hunt a serial killer, but the investigation doesn't have much to go on. Raina's vision is their best chance to uncover more. Axel's experience with the FBI's elite paranormal team will nurture Raina's abilities, and she may be able to help save a life—but it puts her directly in the crosshairs of a killer who is closer than they would ever suspect.

My Review:
It was really great to read these books! I do kinda miss the original style of the original books, where there was a team all together, instead of one of the main characters, sometimes both, with some in person backup by another member of the Krewe and significant other, and Angela and the team of researchers back in Virginia. Just a little bit lonely, you know? We haven't seen some of the cast in a while, and it'd be a way to introduce these leads before they're leads. I liked getting to know all of them before their stories.

These books both were pretty unique, though. Since Kylie was having her past regressed, it was like she was the person getting murdered, at the time it was happening, which seemed to unlock her ability to see ghosts. And Raina touched an item that the victim wore, and suddenly she saw where the victim was, saw the past. So that was interesting to read!

Both of these mysteries was intriguing to read, of a serial killer-or a copy cat. But because of Kylie, they knew who the bad guy was, it was more of a matter of finding evidence that would hold up in court. And the cold blooded executions spanning years, with bodies dumped in the Everglades, both of these mysteries were great and I really enjoyed how they all played out!

Of course there was romance in both of these books. I really enjoyed Kylie and Jon together, and Raina and Axel. And their differing stories, that Jon was just in the right place at the right time after Kylie put the pieces together. That Raina and Axel met when they were kids, on a school trip. Yeah for happy endings!

Really enjoyed these books, they were really entertaining to read!
