Week 7 Review: Spider Game

From Goodreads:
In the new GhostWalker novel by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Viper Game, a trained killer meets his match in a woman whose very kiss can stop a heart.

The Cajun dive in the middle of the godforsaken swamps wasn't exactly Trap Dawkins' idea of fun. But the GhostWalker wasn't there for a good time. He was looking for her. Cayenne. It’s where she found her victims. Poor suckers. Then again, who wouldn't want to leave a place like this with a woman like her?

It's not Cayenne's fault. Locked up, experimented on and never knowing kindness, she was bred this way—with a heart of pure venom. Trap understands her. He survived his own dark past and he shares her desire for getting even. But now Trap's greatest danger is Cayenne herself. Because what's inside her is hard to control—especially when it's aroused by a lover as reckless as Trap.

My Review:
Yeah, we have the next instalment in this wonderful series! Both Trap and Cayenne were introduced in Viper Game, and that was the start of what was continued on in this book. And it was really fantastic, I really enjoyed their relationship!

They were both scared, physically and mentally. She'd been created in a lab, and then was deemed damaged and slated for being killed and disposed of. Yeah. Trap, well, he had an abusive father, who killed the rest of his family before Trap killed him. Oh, and his uncles, who make sure that Trap doesn't get close to anyone else after they kidnapped and tortured his aunt. Yeah, they didn't have the easiest upbringings, but that's what made them into the people they were.

I really enjoyed their relationship. Because of who they were, this could've gone very badly, very quickly. And of course there were bumps on the road-every relationship has them. It was the main part of the book, and just so enjoyable!

How they dealt with things, I thought that was really excellent! They won, the bad guys lost, and that was that. It's not done yet, but the whole thing with Whitney is a big part of this series, and the Violet stuff is a part of that, though it changed directions in this book! Also dealing with his uncles, that was basically nothing to them, though it was just a little terrifying to think about it!

I did thing that scene on the plane, that Violet had gotten to Trap. I mean, calling Cayanne's attempts at bonding with his team, that he called that flirting? And that she fell into the one guy's lap because of the turbulence, and he called that crawling into his lap? Geez, dude, not her fault! And way to make her the bad guy in something where there was no blame! I was very annoyed at him during all that!

Such a fantastic book, I just love Christine Feehan's books, and I can't wait to read more!
