Week 14 Review: Light

From Goodreads:
It's been over a year since all the adults disappeared. Gone.

In the time since every person over the age of fourteen disappeared from the town of Perdido Beach, California, countless battles have been fought: battles against hunger and lies and plague, and epic battles of good against evil. And now, the gaiaphage has been reborn as Diana's malicious mutant daughter, Gaia. Gaia is endlessly hungry for destruction. She yearns to conquer her Nemesis, Little Pete, and then bend the entire world to her warped will. As long-standing enemies become allies, secrets are revealed and unexpected sacrifices are made. Will their attempts to save themselves and one another matter in the end, or will the kids of Perdido Beach perish in this final power struggle?

Light, the sixth and final book in the New York Times bestselling Gone series by Michael Grant, creates a masterful, arresting conclusion to life in the FAYZ.

My Review:
This book was utterly fantastic! So much happens-like adults get into the FAYZ. But in that happening, well, it tells us that if they had been the ones to be stuck in the FAYZ, they wouldn't have survived as long as the kids, because man, they did not last long!

There were a lot of sacrifices in this book. Though the main big one was by Little Pete, because of what he did for the final battle. But Caine's with the note that he left taking responsibility for all of the bad things that happened in the FAYZ from beyond the grave, was pretty good, too!

How things all came together and ended, well, almost ended, was just perfect! With Caine, facing off for Little Pete, to show just how much things have changed! And the final show off that has been building since the beginning, oh, just wow!

I can't say how many times that I reread the ending. Because, man, this was a really awesome ending! Just so perfect, and so interesting to read! I really loved those happy endings, because hey, they've been through so much, and this is, well, the light at the end of the tunnel! Like Sam and Astrid! And all these characters! One part that really got me, though, was Albert's bit, when they comment about the "fake" graveyard and how it was ruining the shot, and he told them it wasn't fake. Seriously, people, there was a lot of death in the year that they were trapped!

Such a great book, and a really great ending to the series! Can't wait to read more Michael Grant books!
