They were masters of the darkness, searching through eternity for a mistress of the light....
Her childhood had been a nightmare of violence and pain until she heard his voice calling out to her. Golden and seductive. The voice of an angel.
He had shown her how to survive, taught her to use her unique gifts, trained her in the ancient art of hunting the vampire. Yet he could not bend her to his will. He could not summon her to him, no matter how great his power.
As she battled centuries-old evil in a glittering labyrinth of caverns and crystals, he whispered in her mind, forging an unbreakable bond of trust and need. Only with him can she find the courage to embrace the seductive promise of her ...
My Review:
Oh, I really enjoyed reading this book a lot! Like Destiny's a really strong lady, having fought the vampire blood in her body for years, like, for at least a decade, since she was a young girl. And that she survived, is a testament to her character, though also a bit to Nicolae, who taught her how to fight back!
Yeah, they were a pretty great couple, seeing as they've been linked since the traumatizing situation in her past with the vampire. And that he's been hunting her ever since, since he knew she was his lifemate. And yeah, while she fights it, because of her blood, he convinces her!
That one scene, where she gets the dynamite out of her body, using the various minerals and such that Carpathians can command, was really awesome! Or when Gregori was fighting the little bits of vampire blood still in her body, that was great!
There was one positive lifemate note, and one negative lifemate note, in this book not related to the main couple. The positive, is MaryAnn, who's going to be the heroine of Dark Possession. The negative, of the one sister, and having the vampire there, and that they were lifemates, but that he didn't look hard enough for her, and then choose to be a vampire. Yeah, positive and negative!
This was a really great book, loved reading it! Now for more!
