Destiny and darkness collide in this romantic, sweeping new fantasy series from New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan.
Seventeen years ago, an eclipse cloaked the kingdom of Relhok in perpetual darkness. In the chaos, an evil chancellor murdered the king and queen and seized their throne. Luna, Relhok's lost princess, has been hiding in a tower ever since. Luna's survival depends on the world believing she is dead.
But that doesn't stop Luna from wanting more. When she meets Fowler, a mysterious archer braving the woods outside her tower, Luna is drawn to him despite the risk. When the tower is attacked, Luna and Fowler escape together. But this world of darkness is more treacherous than Luna ever realized.
With every threat stacked against them, Luna and Fowler find solace in each other. But with secrets still unspoken between them, falling in love might be their most dangerous journey yet.
My Review:
Loved reading this book so much! It's so different from any other book that I've read of Sophie Jordan, it's a YA, but it's also fantasy, set in a world of her imagination, not this one, with some paranormal elements. it was just plain awesome to read!
I should've known from Luna's POV chapters that piece of knowledge about her life. Her senses were pretty heavily used and described, but I thought that it was because of the almost eternal dark. Nope, what she has/doesn't have just puts her on a slightly more even levelling field in this world of darkness with everyone else! It took Fowler discovering it that I realized that it had to be that, so yeah, that was pretty awesome to read! Can anyone guess what I'm talking about?
This book better darn well be in a series-it better have a sequel! It can't end where it does, with that evil cliffhanger! There has to be a sequel, there's still things to be done! I need more! Please, please, please! More!
Another reason to have a sequel, is there's still unanswered questions. Like the darkness-it's lasted 17 years. It was mentioned that it'd come and gone before, that they just had to outlive it, if possible. So what causes it? Also, the dwellers! I want to know more about them, seeing as they're the greatest threat from nature-or unnatural!
Yep, really fantastic book, check! Loved reading it, and I just really need a sequel!
