Week 28 Review: Scarlet

From Goodreads:
Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance.

Posing as one of Robin Hood's thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.

It's only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

My Review:
I've never read a retelling of Robin Hood. That I remember, anyways! So that just automatically made this book epic! And the writing, and the story, just continued to hold on to the title of epicness, because this book was just epic to the extreme!

Scarlet's story was one that I really enjoyed reading, because this time period, well, I don't read too many books from then, and then a retelling of a very popular story, well, yeah, that's really great! And Scarlet has secrets, secrets that we slowly learn! And it's so great, how they affect the story!

Oh, and Scarlet was pretty kick ass! Which is why the pretence that she's a guy works out well for her, what person, of that time, would really consider that it was a female that was doing all those things? Probably none!

And that ending! That was a pretty big sacrifice Scarlet made, for the gang, but especially Robin, considering the feelings that were developing there! And it was a big sacrifice too, because of her secrets, and her past with Lord Gisbourne!

Gah, such a really great book, and I'd love for there to be a sequel!
