Week 44 Review: Delirium

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn't understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she'll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

My Review:
Loved, loved, loved this book!  Loved the idea, loved the characters, loved the plot! The thought that love is a disease, such an interesting thing to think about! Because they're halfway right, that it's something that infects you. But they're wrong about something. They think that all loves are bad. It's not all bad. Having no love, that's worse, sometimes, like they mentioned attachments between parents and children, and how if the parent didn't care about the child, then that could cause some issues. And it's bad. Loved this book, though!

I really, really, really enjoyed Lena and Alex together, mostly because it's against the rules of their world to be together, and that she fights it at first. Really, really, really loved that! And really loved all the relationships in this book, especially the ones that aren't what they should, lopsided because one side doesn't actually feel anything at all, they just know how they're supposed to feel. Really great!

Truly enjoyed the plot, all the maybes, could've been's, and hopefully's. And what will happen next-ness. With the countdown and all, just really loved that!

This is an amazing book, so you guys are really going to have to CHECK THIS BOOK OUT!!!!
