Bridget Duke is the uncontested ruler of her school. The meanest girl with the biggest secret insecurities. And when new girl Anna Judge arrives, things start to fall apart for Bridget: friends don't worship as attentively, teachers don't fall for her wide-eyed "who me?" look, expulsion looms ahead and the one boy she's always loved—Liam Ward—can barely even look at her anymore.
When a desperate Bridget drives too fast and crashes her car, she ends up in limbo, facing everyone she's wronged and walking a few uncomfortable miles in their shoes. Now she has only one chance to make a last impression. Though she might end up dead, she has one last shot at redemption and the chance to right the wrongs she's inflicted on the people who mean the most to her. And Bridget's about to learn that, sometimes, saying you're sorry just isn't enough….
My Review:
This was a really great book about a mean girl, and a mean girl finding out just how mean that she was, knowing that she did wrong, and yeah, it was really great! I really enjoyed reading Bridget's story, it was a bit sad, since Bridget is dead, but watching bits of her life with her was great!
So Bridget made some bad decisions. She was insecure, and she pushed her emotions on others, she was a Queen Bee, who was threatened by a new girl. Which is kinda like the beginning of the end. Because that's what leads to her crashing her car. Yeah.
To be honest, I didn't like Bridget very much in the beginning. She wasn't a good person, really, she let the bad stuff overpower the good things, and made things worse for others. Not the makings of a nice person. But walking in other people's shoes, well, I liked the new-old Bridget!
The one thing that I didn't like too much, was the length of the book. It was too short, it could've been longer, and we could've been in this world more, and have things mean more, and that would've been so great! Oh, well!
I enjoyed this book a lot, it was a great look at the other side of the story, the usually bad guy's story, and yeah, really enjoyed that!
