Week 23 Review: Burning Dawn

From Goodreads:
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter returns with a sizzling Angels of the Dark tale about a winged warrior renowned for his ruthlessness, and the woman who becomes his obsession...

A tormented past has left Thane with an insatiable need for violence, making him the most dangerous assassin in the skies.

He lives by a single code: no mercy. And as he unleashes his fury on his most recent captor, he learns no battle could have prepared him for the slave he rescues from his enemy's clutches—a beauty who stokes the fires of his darkest desires.

Elin Vale has her own deep-rooted scars, and her attraction to the exquisite warrior who freed her challenges her every boundary.

But Thane's unwavering determination to protect her means she must face her greatest fears—and enter a world in which passion is power, and victory means breathtaking surrender.

My Review:
Oh, wow, what an epic, wonderful, fantastic, love-it-with-all-of-my-heart book by Gena Showalter! Just another book to prove that she's such a fantastic author, who, after books are edited, can honestly do no wrong! This book just captivated me, and I didn't want to put it down, and when I did, I was forced, and I hurried through my tasks so that I could get back to it!!!

I absolutely adored the romance! How they healed each other, for him being able to separate what happened to him and his brothers, that pain, from pleasure, for her, being told that the ones who died would want her to be happy and move on. Yeah. And how he didn't want her to scream in pain any more? So sweet!

I loved the waitresses at the club, they were so great, and unique, and funny, and it was so sad what happened, because I wanted to know more about her past, but we didn't get the chance, and that sucked, but that was a major thing that happened!

We got to see some of the results of The Darkest Craving, with a group of Fae discussing it a bit, and making a dare that if Elin made it a week as a waitress there, that they'd pledge themselves to Kane, and yeah, while we didn't see follow up on that, oh, well.

We also got to know what happened to Bjorn, after he disappeared in Beauty Awakened, and man, was that brutal! I know that there's currently 2 paranormal contracted books right now, and I'm half hoping that Bjorn gets one of them, because I want him to get free! But Xerxes needs a book, too!

I absolutely loved this book, it was just so fantastic, and I can't wait for more Gena Showalter books, because this was just as good as her previous books!!!
