The New York Times bestselling author of Mind Magic returns as FBI agent Lily Yu gets some very bad news…
Lily learns she was right. Tom Weng—a powerful sorcerer allied with the Old One who keeps trying to take over the world—is still alive. But that's not the worst. Weng is a dragon spawn, the product of a botched hatching given a human form in an attempt to keep him from going mad. A failed attempt.
Meanwhile, Lily's husband Rule is facing a Challenge to the death. Then there's the possible reappearance of another sorcerer. But none of that matters when their enemy strikes out of nowhere in the worst way possible. Lily must face a nightmare and return to a place she never wanted to see again. The place where she died…
My Review:
Yeah, I just absolutely loved reading this book! It was just so great! I loved being with these characters again, and Lily was using her new mind magic, which was really cool! And we learned about dragon spawn, and oh, yeah, the way that she hit them, yeah, that was the worse possible way!
I loved how bits and pieces from Mind Magic, the dragons and their reproductive secrets, touched and tangled with this book. Because the dragon spawn are their children. They're what happens when no one plays the role that Lily just played. Yeah.
The beginning was really fantastic! Basically, it was a hint of things to come, not in this book specifically, but in the days and books ahead. And I really can't wait-this has been building from the beginning of the series!
Ending things that way? That was just pure evil! And we don't know when Dragon Blood is going to come out yet, as far as I know. I hope it's in a couple of months, because I don't think I can wait long dangling over this cliff!
Loved reading this book, so much, it was such a fantastic book! I need more of this series!
