Where is home when you were born in the stars?
Aza Ray is back on earth. Her boyfriend Jason is overjoyed. Her family is healed. She's living a normal life, or as normal as it can be if you've spent the past year dying, waking up on a sky ship, and discovering that your song can change the world.
As in, not normal. Part of Aza still yearns for the clouds, no matter how much she loves the people on the ground.
When Jason's paranoia over Aza's safety causes him to make a terrible mistake, Aza finds herself a fugitive in Magonia, tasked with opposing her radical, bloodthirsty, recently-escaped mother, Zal Quel, and her singing partner Dai. She must travel to the edge of the world in search of a legendary weapon, The Flock, in a journey through fire and identity that will transform her forever.
In this stunning sequel to the critically acclaimed Magonia, one girl must make an impossible choice between two families, two homes—and two versions of herself.
My Review:
It was just so great to read this book! It has been a while since I read Magonia, so I had forgotten some of the details, but this book caught me up pretty quickly! It was just so great to be with these characters again!
All through the beginning, I was waiting for something bad to happen, along with these characters. So when it actually did happen, it was a bit of a relief, and that we could really get on with the action! So fantastic!
Things were expanded in this book-we learned more about this world, because Magonia isn't the only non-human country on Earth! And yeah, some drastic actions were taken, and people changed from the first book-it was just so freaking great to read!
I really enjoyed the ending! It could be the end of the series, or there could be a 3rd book. There is hope for the future, but not everything is solved. So it could be the end, or there could be more. I'm kinda hoping for more!
This book was just fantastic, and yeah, so enjoyable!
