Week 15 Review: Empire of Ivory

From Goodreads:
Tragedy has struck His Majesty's Aerial Corps, whose magnificent fleet of fighting dragons and their human captains valiantly defend England's shores against the encroaching armies of Napoleon Bonaparte. An epidemic of unknown origin and no known cure is decimating the noble dragons' ranks– forcing the hopelessly stricken into quarantine. Now only Temeraire and a pack of newly recruited dragons remain uninfected–and stand as the only means of an airborne defense against France's ever bolder sorties.

Bonaparte's dragons are already harrowing Britain's ships at sea. Only one recourse remains: Temeraire and his captain, Will Laurence, must take wing to Africa, whose shores may hold the cure to the mysterious and deadly contagion. On this mission there is no time to waste, and no telling what lies in store beyond the horizon or for those left behind to wait, hope, and hold the line.

My Review:
I loved reading this book! This series is so awesome, and that we get to explore another continent while looking for the cure to the sickness, was so great to read! There was a lot going on in this book, and I enjoyed it so much!

After the events of the last book, which where pretty dark, it was a bit easier to read this book. Not much, seeing as the dragons were sick and dying, but they were looking for the cure, not fighting in the war, so it was just slightly easier!

I loved meeting the African dragons! They had a unique view, that dragons were the ancestors of the people. So that was pretty awesome! Sure, they had struggles with our band of characters, but they were still interesting to read about!

Honestly, I'm mad at the ones who made the decision to infect the French dragons. That was just underhanded and awful and evil. Honestly, I prefer the dragons to the people, they're so much better! And it put Lawrence in a terrible position, and while he made the right choice, it's going to have some severe, undeserved consequences!

This book was so awesome, a turning point in the series, and I can't wait to read more!
