Where do you go when nowhere is safe?
Sixteen years after a deadly virus wiped out most of Earth's population, the world is a perilous place. Eighteen-year-old Eve has never been beyond the heavily guarded perimeter of her school, where she and two hundred other orphaned girls have been promised a future as the teachers and artists of the New America. But the night before graduation, Eve learns the shocking truth about her school's real purpose—and the horrifying fate that awaits her.
Fleeing the only home she's ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Arden, her former rival from school, and Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust . . . and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.
My Review:
Wow! What an amazing book! Eve was such a smart person, who was forced into a horrible situation, but got out of it with her wits, and some friends! I absolutely enjoyed it, and yeah, I'm so glad that I got an e-ARC of it from NetGalley!
I really enjoyed the plot, that a plague wiped out a lot of the population, and then the schools for girls, and the places for the boys. It really made me mad that people would actually do that, so that humanity would survive, it wouldn't really be humanity for how all the orphans, kids who were 5 till they were 18, and then what they were supposed to do. Very bad. Didn't like that, but that was the conflict, so it was really good!
I really enjoyed her teaching, because it meant some hope for us, that we'd survive, and that some of us would be good! And hope, well, in worlds like this, hope can go a pretty long way! Even if you're in this world reading about that one!
This was an excellent book, so you guys better check it out!!!

Great review! I need to move this up on my to-read list! I am so into these kinds of books right now!
ReplyDeleteNo no no nooooo LOL! Let me say that I love the world building and the atmosphere and that I hate Eve, so that's where I have to disagree with you, haha! But I hated Bella and I love the Twilight Saga, so I will probably read the rest of this trilogy when it is available.
