Week 25 Reviews: Dark Dreamers, Dark Legend

From Goodreads:
DARK DREAM
Christine Feehan
She’s known him since she was fifteen. Every night, he is with her: his face, his voice. Tonight, Sara Marten will meet the man who is both angel and demon, salvation and temptation: Falcon—the Carpathian, the banished hero. Tonight, Sara will meet the dark-eyed destroyer destined to be her mate.

A DREAM OF STONE & SHADOW
Marjorie M. Liu

There are those who do terrible things in this world, and those who simply watch. Charlie would do neither. Imprisoned, his only release is through his own destruction—or through Aggie Durand. Sweet as a kiss or a rescued child, she is the one dream he does not dare desire. As an agent of Dirk & Steele, she could be his salvation. Today, Charlie’s dream is waking.

From Goodreads:
He woke deep within the ground, and the first sensation he felt was hunger. An overwhelming hunger for blood that demanded satisfaction. But as he hunted the dark streets of Paris for prey, a voice called to him, soothing, calming, giving him the strength to control his craving.

Francesca Del Ponce was a healer, a woman who radiated goodness as powerfully as the sun did light. But surely his obsession with her would turn him as his twin brother had turned, leaving the world with two monsters instead of one.

Though he knew she would be like hot silk in his arms, though he knew the taste of her would be addictive, he feared for her life and his soul if he took her. Then with one mind-shattering vow she gave herself -- "I offer freely, without reservation, I offer my life for yours as is my right" --and with a firestorm of long-forgotten feelings, he glimpsed salvation.

My Review:
I enjoyed both of these so much! Such great characters, such great writing, such great worlds that I just want to spend more time in! I knew that from the first time that I read them, and I discovered that again, because good books just never get old, do they?

Loved Sara and Falcon together, and that they faced the bad guys, and how their whole posse of kids that she's found are all psychic, and have that possibility of being Carpathains down the road! Great! And then I kinda mixed up A Dream of Stone with another story, but it was really great, and I'm going to have to read more, really enjoyed that world!

So the idea that Lucian was faking it for Gabriel, so that Gabriel wouldn't lose hope, well, that's kinda sad, that a) Gabriel didn't notice that, and b) that Gabriel had met her before, but didn't pay attention, and if he had, they could've been lifemates for all that time. But on the other hand, if that'd happened, then Lucian wouldn't have met Jaxx because he wouldn't have had that time to try and keep Gabriel from turning. And then their story wouldn't be in this series! So yeah, there's some good, and some bad there!

Oh, Skylar! Well, life is going to be looking up, and man, how good life is going to get for you, from siblings that are born of Gabriel and Francesca, and those that are born of Razvan, her biological dad, and then Dimitri, her lifemate as soon as she's old enough! Yep.

Really enjoyed reading the both of these, and I can't wait to reread more!
