Week 46 Review: Midnight's Daughter

From Goodreads:
Dorina Basarab is a dhampir-half human, half vampire. Subject to uncontrollable rages, most dhampirs live very short, very violent lives. So far Dory has managed to maintain her sanity by unleashing her anger on those demons and vampires who deserve killing.

Now Dory's vampire father has come back into her life. Her Uncle Dracula (yes, the Dracula), infamous even among vampires for his cruelty and murderous ways, has escaped his prison. And her father wants Dory to work with gorgeous master vampire Louis-Cesare to put him back there.

Vampires and dhampirs are mortal enemies, and Dory prefers to work alone. But Dracula is the only thing on Earth that truly scares her, so when Dory has to go up against him, she'll take all the help she can get… ...

My Review:
So yeah, this is the 3rd time that I've read this book, but this time is the first that I'll be reading the whole, complete series in order, and that's a new thing, so yeah, I was really pumped going into this book with that fact!

Loved having Dory and Louis-Cesare and their adventures and the beginning of their romance when it's all push and pull, we don't like each other, but there's a strange attraction thing going on, before he wises up and realizes that they'd be perfect together!

This book takes the kernel of plot from Embrace the Night, and runs with it! Which makes me wonder what happened to the incubus who was in love with Dracula, and presumably released him, where was he in this book? If he was mentioned, I missed it! I want to know what happened there!

Another bit was Claire, and the fey, and Cademon, which was really fun and interesting to read, what with the fey wine that Dory started drinking, and the shared dreams and such. Just so great to have all the pieces put together!

Fantastic book, loved reading it again, and I just want to read more of this series!
