Week 39 Review: Dead Until Dark

From Goodreads:
Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. Until the vampire of her dreams walks into her life--and one of her coworkers checks out...Maybe having a vampire for a boyfriend isn't such a bright idea. A fun, fast, funny, and wonderfully intriguing blend of vampire and mystery that's hard to put down, and should not be missed.

My Review:
This book is definitely getting reread! It was so amazing, and I loved the murders, and the romances, they were just really good! I was also balancing reading the book and watching the first season, since they seemed pretty close, and while I thought that the show had more details, the book was better, simply because it is a book.

Loved the thought of it, really interesting, and engaging, though the vampires can be, lets say rude, and like they deserved to be human's masters. Didn't like that, but Sookie stood up for us humans! So that was really great!

Really great book, loved it, can't wait to read this. If you haven't read it yet, or seen the show, DO BOTH!!!! Yeah, I know, a bit heavy handed, but I'm enjoying both, so yeah, I guess I want to make sure everyone else also gets these awesome stories!

Such a great start to what I know is going to be a really great series! I can't wait to read more!

  1. I'm glad you liked the book - I really have enjoyed the series although a couple later books are a bit weaker.
I like them on Audible - really good narrator.
I didn't care for the rather graphic HBO version... not my cup of tea there.

  2. Yep :) Now I need to find the next books. I've requested some others from BookMooch, but there's been some trouble with the mail, and my parents and such.

    Nice :)

The show is graphic, yeah, but some parts, so graphic it's funny. Plus it has some more added to it, like the demon exorcising, and just other POV's then Sookies :)
