Toni went from being a doctor, to the lover of a god in an instant. Remembering who she was, she's now torn between her past self and her current love. Ben is stunned when Toni leaves and at the arrival of his long lost love, Catherine, but her arrival doesn't eradicate Toni from his mind. Unlikely allies will team up to get Toni back from the Lord of the Underworld, Hades, but it's not Hades they need to worry about.
My Review:
While this book wasn't as fun to read as Bound to Remember, it was still a great book, and totally enjoyable, it just wasn't on the same level as Bound to Remember. But then, it was a little bit shorter by about 10 pages or so, which means that the wait for the 3rd book will be longer, and that'll be a good thing!
Well, after the cliffhanger in Bound to Remember, I really wanted to read this book! And Unbound really picked up where Bound to Remember left off, but there were parts where I was going, why don't you do something, characters, you have a plan, stick to it, but to their favour, all these things were happening, like finding out a character's mother, and yeah, the bad guys keep coming in for some reason. I don't really know now, maybe to check that they haven't escaped? But yeah, really enjoyed reading this book!
We got to explore Tori's past, and find out all about the memory wiping thing, and changing locations and memories and physical appearances every 10 years or so, and the reason why-because she's...engaged, yeah that's the word closet to the situation-to Hades, Lord of the Underworld. And while we briefly met him in Bound to Remember, this book really explored him, and the Persephone myth, and his and Tori's relationship, that was quite fun to read!
An the cliffhanger on this book, where Tori has to make a choice just mere hours after almost dying, and one that I don't think she's quite ready to make yet, well, that's going to be a lot of fun to read, so I hope the next book is going on tour too so I can read it!!!
Unbound was a really great book, so I hope you guys have a chance to read it-it has great characters and plots and everything!

Bio:
Lola James has been reading romance novels since her teens, and fell in love with the paranormal after discovering Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Her love of the dark worlds of vampires and witches, as well as her fascination with Greek mythology led her to create the Spellbound Series, an ongoing Paranormal Romance combining all of the above into tales of suspense with a little bit of humor in an Urban Fantasy setting.
A long time lover of reading and writing with a passion for a great story, James became discouraged by the complicated and arbitrary publishing process, James had initially set down her laptop and her hopes of being a writer. However, with the purchase of her first e-reader, James became re-energized by the new possibilities for an undiscovered author to reach the masses. Dusting off her keyboard she finally finished Bound to Remember, the first book of the Spellbound Series and self-published it. Energized and ambitious, James is now hard at work on both the Spellbound Series as well as the Fate Series, a paranormal romance about dreams and what happens if they come true.
Living in Southern California with her husband and three beautiful children, James finds time to write in between her full-time job as a mother and wife as well as her other full-time job as an HR manager, as well as her academic schedule as she studies for her Master's degree which she hopes to complete in 2013. With the success of Bound to Remember, James hopes to continue to reach an audience that will allow her to leave her HR job and focus on her writing as a full time career.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I liked Bound to Remember better as well. But Unbound is still good, and I can't wait to see what happens in book 3.
