Week 31 Review: Treachery in Death

From Goodreads:
Detective Eve Dallas and her partner, Peabody, are following up on a senseless crime—an elderly grocery owner killed by three stoned punks for nothing more than kicks and snacks. This is Peabody's first case as primary detective—good thing she learned from the master.

But Peabody soon stumbles upon a trickier situation. After a hard workout, she's all alone in the locker room when the gym door clatters open; and-while hiding inside a shower stall trying not to make a sound—she overhears two fellow officers, Garnet and Oberman, arguing. It doesn't take long to realize they're both crooked—guilty not just of corruption but of murder. Now Peabody, Eve, and Eve's husband, Roarke, are trying to get the hard evidence they need to bring the dirty cops down—knowing all the while that the two are willing to kill to keep their secret.

My Review:
Such a fantastic book! Loved reading it! This was such a great edition to the just wonderful In Death series! I just absolutely love reading about this world, about these characters, and how these people solve murders and various other connected crimes!

So this is a book where Peabody really shines. She's the one that takes lead in the first case, which admittedly, is pretty easy for an experienced cop like her, since it was a senseless crime committed by stupid boys. But the second one, the one of the corrupted cops, well, she was in that shower stall, and they were right there-but they didn't find out she was there. Yeah.

The know Garnet and Oberman are corrupt. But they have to prove it. And they find that it's a bit more widespread, though contained to one squad. And not all that are are on the squad-there's a lady there that wants to help, and she does!

My only regret about this book, is that we didn't really see the effects of the treachery, on other cops once they found out, on the public, and for the lady's dad, who was a pretty highly decorated cop himself. We didn't really get a chance to see that, and it's too bad about that!

Really enjoyed this book, it was just so entertaining and good, and I can't wait for more books in this fantastic series!
