From Goodreads:
Jane Yellowrock is a vampire killer for hire—but other creatures of the night still need to watch their backs....
When the Master of the city of New Orleans asks Jane to improve security for a future visit from a delegation of European vampires, she names an exorbitant price—and Leo is willing to pay. That's because the European vamps want Leo's territory, and he knows that he needs Jane to prevent a total bloodbath. Leo, however, doesn't mention how this new job will change Jane's life or the danger it will bring her and her team.
Jane has more to worry about than some greedy vampires. There's a vicious creature stalking the streets of New Orleans, and its agenda seems to be ripping Leo and her to pieces. Now Jane just has to figure out how to kill something she can't even see….

From Goodreads:
Shapeshifting skinwalker Jane Yellowrock is the best in the business when it comes to slaying vampires. But her latest fanged foe may be above her pay grade…
For centuries, the extremely powerful and ruthless vampire witches of the European Council have wandered the Earth, controlling governments, fostering war, creating political conflict, and often leaving absolute destruction in their wake. One of the strongest of them is set to create some havoc in the city of New Orleans, and it's definitely personal.
Jane is tasked with tracking him down. With the help of a tech wiz and an ex-Army ranger, her partners in Yellowrock Securities, she'll have to put everything on the line, and hope it's enough. Things are about to get real hard in the Big Easy.

Jane welcomes a visit from Molly and her daughter, Angie, who is about to prove she's the most powerful witch in Everhart history. From the Big Easy to the bad bayou, from the open road to a vampire's lair—with Jane Yellowrock, it's always a given: have stakes, will travel.
From Goodreads:
Slaying vampires is child's play for skinwalker Jane Yellowrock. But handling the complicated politics of New Orleans' supernatural players is another story...
Jane is keeping the peace between visiting groups of witches and vamps in the city, but then trouble comes knocking on her doorstep. When her house is magically attacked, the wild chase to find her assailants unearths a mystery that has literally been buried deep.
A missing master vampire, presumed long deceased, is found chained in a pit...undead, raving mad, and in the company of two human bodies. Now it's up to Jane to find out who kept the vampire hidden for so long and why, because the incident could tip already high supernatural tensions to an all-out arcane war.
My Review:
Yeah, I just absolutely loved reading these books! So epic, so awesome, so wonderful! So much happened in these books, wow! Edmund was a big thing in these books, and I want to know more about him!
Broken Soul was mainly about the creatures like Soul, and we finally got a name for them-arcenciel or serpentes iridis or dragons of light. We also got some history of the lost People of the Straight Ways, the Builders, the arcenciel and the Anzu, so yeah, that was really intriguing!
The reason why Immanuel, or the skinwalker who took over Immanuel, became u'tlun'ta was because he was bitten by the arcenciel that Joseph Santana had held captive? Yeah, that was really interesting! Boy, did Dark Heir bring home that vampires are very complicated with layers and history! And that because Santana had had skinwalker blood, and then was bitten, that was probably why all the higher up vamps have been unstable for the past while, because they've been drinking his blood!
And that whole thing means that Jane becoming u'tlun'ta might not be an eventuality if she isn't killed before that. Because Immanuel did because of the arcenciel bite. So there's hope there, yeah! I really hope it's true, because it would be horrible if Jane became a liver eater!
Having Ming brought into this series was really interesting. She went missing-and was presumed dead before this series began. And because she was missing, some things happened, that might not have happened, or might not have been as powerful. But it brought it back to characters from only the first book!
When she was struck by lightning, Beast's pelt changed colour-her dad had a black pelt-was he hit by lightning or something similar? That is something to consider going forward, what with the choice she made to be War Woman!
I've caught up with this series, which is slightly sad, but yeah that the Dell series is just going to be published soon! I can't wait to read it, and spend more time in this world that is just so freaking great! Overall, I made good time, finding this series and reading it in time for Blood of the Earth!
There are some things that I can't wait for the next book for! Like the dark mote, in her since the second book. There's still two links after she destroyed the first one. And then there's the weapon that she created out of the blood diamond and piece of the stake! And the European Vamps visit! Gah, can't wait for the next book!
So wonderful to read these books, and I can't wait to read more!
