Week 44 Review: Dirty Little Secret

From Goodreads:
Bailey wasn't always a wild child and the black sheep of her family. She used to play fiddle and tour the music circuit with her sister, Julie, who sang and played guitar. That ended when country music execs swooped in and signed Julie to a solo deal. Never mind that Julie and Bailey were a duet, or that Bailey was their songwriter. The music scouts wanted only Julie, and their parents were content to sit by and let her fulfill her dreams while Bailey's were hushed away.

Bailey has tried to numb the pain and disappointment over what could have been. And as Julie’s debut album is set to hit the charts, her parents get fed up with Bailey’s antics and ship her off to granddad’s house in Nashville. Playing fiddle in washed-up tribute groups at the mall, Bailey meets Sam, a handsome and oh-so-persuasive guitarist with his own band. He knows Bailey’s fiddle playing is just the thing his band needs to break into the industry. But this life has broken Bailey's heart once before. She isn't sure she’s ready to let Sam take her there again…

My Review:
This was a really awesome book! I loved the music, and I felt really bad for Bailey, her parents decided to let Julie's dreams to fly, and to crush hers, and then got mad at her when she acted out her emotions on that whole situation. Not very good parenting!

So yeah, the main conflicts in this book, were her parents, Sam's inner stuff, with his past and everything, and then music. I mean, she had a chance, but then Julie got it, and now she might be entering that place again with Sam's band. Conflict!

I enjoyed these characters, they were real, I empathised with her acting out, and then being sent to live at her grandfather's house-that happened to me, though I was more minor acts of defiance, low key, more consistently then what Bailey did. And then Sam, with his history, was just great to read about! And her grandfather, and how he was in the music business!

That ending, that was great! Things were solved through time and working through them, and that was just great! And it left the characters in great spots, spots that are in real life, and yeah, I enjoyed reading that so much!

This was a really great book, I enjoyed it so much, and I can't wait to read the next Jennifer Echols book!
