Week 36 Review: Dark Skye

From Goodreads:
In this highly anticipated fifteenth novel in the Immortals After Dark series, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole spins a sultry tale of a mighty warrior scarred inside and out and the beguiling sorceress with the power to heal him—or vanquish him forever.

ETERNAL OBSESSION

As a boy, Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families' war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

ENDLESS YEARNING

Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she's never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he's a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

CAN THE HEAT OF DESIRE BURN BRIGHTER THAN VENGEANCE?

With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?

My Review:
Oh, so many things happen in this book! One of the things that I was most excited for, was the Nix chapter, which lived up to it's potential, and then breached that threshold, and was just so much more incredible! Oh, and Lanthe and Thronos were a pretty awesome couple!

The thing about the Ferveris realm, that Lanthe mentions, is the question of that the monster stomach thing made them hallucinate something, and their minds chose Ferveris, or if the monster stomach thing was the real Ferveris, and the happy carefree sexual realm is the image that everyone sees. I kinda hope that it was the "faux Feveris" as Lanthe dubs it, because then there really is a Ferveris!

Favourite line: "If they sensed danger-or bath time-they would simply teleport their diapered butts away. When hungry, they traced right to their mother's breast, which still freaked out the rather staid Holly. Cadeon thought it was uproarious, would croon praise to them. The twins and the boobs."

The Nix chapter-a meeting that she set up 125 years ago-a petition for godhood, for her to be a goddess! Such awesomeness, something that we've known we've been heading for since Pleasure of a Dark Prince, and that has been there since the very beginning! And that she's going to be Phenix, the goddess of Accessions, totally perfect, seeing as she's been steering this one so much!

And the reason why, an enemy called the Morior, the Bringers of Doom, I think that they were mentioned as why Those Best Forgotten were forcing born Lykae turn others Lykae. And from what the goddess were saying/thinking, I can almost understand the Forgotten's actions. Not condone them, because they're totally wrong, but wanting to protect yourself from a threat. Because they do it every Accession, the point of which is to decrease the immortal population. And this one seems to be gearing up to be a pretty hairy one. Still. Not the right way to go about protecting yourselves!

This was just such a fantastic book, I loved reading about these 2, since their story for us, started in Kiss of the Demon King, and yeah, it lived up to the build that it got! Loved it so much, can't wait for the next book!
