Week 12 Review: Dark Energy

From Goodreads:
We are not alone. They are here. And there's no going back. Perfect for fans of The Fifth Wave and the I Am Number Four series, Dark Energy is a thrilling stand-alone science fiction adventure from Robison Wells, critically acclaimed author of Variant and Blackout.

Five days ago, a massive UFO crashed in the Midwest. Since then, nothing—or no one—has come out.

If it were up to Alice, she'd be watching the fallout on the news. But her dad is director of special projects at NASA, so she's been forced to enroll in a boarding school not far from the crash site. Alice is right in the middle of the action, but even she isn't sure what to expect when the aliens finally emerge. Only one thing is clear: everything has changed.

My Review:
Loved this book! It was so fantastic and awesome! It was on the shorter side, but it had so much packed into it! Like a spaceship crashing, aliens, a mystery of what happened, and history and science! And they all blended so well together!

Loved Alice's narration! Her head went on strange thought paths, and the sarcasm, it was like of the charts! I just absolutely love reading narration like that, so it really endeared me to her! It made for reading this book so enjoyable!

The "everything has changed" bit of the synopsis, it's true. It just doesn't give a lot of detail of what's going on in this book. It doesn't mention how two of the Guides were chosen to go to Alice's new boarding school. Or what was going on!

There was a bit of a mystery going on. Why the ship crashed, why they don't wear shoes, why they don't have or know their mothers. What happened on the ship in the time they were on it. And why the ship was in the condition it was in. Yeah. I don't want to spoil!

Loved this book, and I need to read more of Robison Well's books!
