One December night, 14-year-old Alex goes to bed. He wakes up to find himself in the wrong bedroom, in an unfamiliar house, in a different part of the country, and it's the middle of June. Six months have disappeared overnight. The family at the breakfast table are total strangers.
And when he looks in the mirror, another boy's face stares back at him. A boy named Flip. Unless Alex finds out what's happened and how to get back to his own life, he may be trapped forever inside a body that belongs to someone else.
Questions of identity, the will to survive, and what you're willing to sacrifice to be alive make this extraordinary book impossible to put down.
My Review:
This was a really great book! What a great mystery, of the missing months, and waking up in another person's body! So strange, and so good, and I really enjoyed reading this book to find out what actually happened! So great!
It must've sucked to have to go through that. But what Alex is focused on, is getting back. Sure, finding out what happened was a part of it, but mostly to see if reversing what happened would work. And reading about that, yeah, loved it!
And then we find out what happened. That Alex's body is in the hosipital, and in a coma. Which is a pretty hard thing to hear! But Alex, who'd already been through this much, basically wants to get back to his body, so he has to find a way to wake it back up so he can go back to it.
That was quite a journey, and I just loved going on it, Alex was such a great character, reading about him being in Flip's body, and people noticing that something was different about him, but Alex not knowing Flip, can't do anything about it.
Really fantastic book, I loved how it ended, and that it's apparently a debut YA book, is pretty awesome!
