At last, Zoey has what she wanted: the truth is out. Neferet's evil has been exposed, and the High Council is no longer on her side -- but she's far from done wreaking havoc in the vampyre world. First, a mysterious fire ravages the stables. Then, Neferet makes a devastating move that will test them all.
With the seeds of distrust sown and Darkness breeding chaos at the House of Night, everyone must band together -- but that's proving to be more difficult than ever before. The twins are barely speaking and the House of Night's former enemy, Kalona, has now become their warrior, pushing their trust to the limit. To top it off, Zoey is pretty darn sure she might be losing her mind. She saw something when she looked at Aurox through the Seer Stone that she can hardly explain to herself, let alone her friends. Is it possible that Heath has come back in a different form? Is that why Zoey's so intrigued by Aurox, when it's so obvious that he's dangerous? And who would believe her if she told them? Zoey knows that following her instinct about Aurox might be just what they need to defeat evil . . . but if she's wrong, it could cause the destruction of those closest to her.
With the tension at a breaking point and friendships on the line, can the nerd herd come together to stop the spread of Darkness before it's too late?
My Review:
So I kinda wish that these books were combined, so that while the books would be bigger, there would be less in this series. I mean, they're pretty short, and having them 2 of them currently into 1, would make character developments come quicker, and the storyline to pick up the pace a bit! Because it kinda feels like this series is never going to end!
So there is a lot going on in this book. After all, it's the 10th in this seemingly never ending series, so yeah, that's a lot of plot lines to get going. And yeah, this book had a bit of jumping around, because everything that was going on!
Like Kalona, being the warrior for the lady that replayed Neferet at the Tulsa House of Night school. So yeah, it apparently means that now he's a good guy. It's a bit of an iffy prospect, I mean, there's his son, and Kalona's origins, but it's still the guy that's been on the wrong side since he was introduced!
There's the various drams that are pretty much par the course now, and some things that I wouldn't have expected. That Erin and Shaunee aren't getting along. They were the twins! And now Shaunee is starting to go to the dark side! Not good!
Yeah, mostly I want to complain, besides snide comments, about how long this series is! A lot of the books, well, if they were combined, then they'd be just better, because there'd be less individual books! But oh, well. This book had a pretty good ending!
I enjoyed this book, it was pretty good. I just wanted to complain. Yep.
