Week 46 Review: Air Bound

From Goodreads:
The sisters of Sea Haven, bound by the heart and the magical power of the elements, return in this soul-stirring new novel from Christine Feehan, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Spirit Bound...

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating 'patterns' in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn't outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn't about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there...

My Review:
Really enjoyed this book, so much! It took me a while to get around to reading this book, because of one reason or another. So yeah, it was so entertaining to finally make time to actually read it! Loved to have Airiana and Maxim's story!

So in Spirit Bound, the whole situation happened because the wife knew where the chip was, and that was why the attack happened. But in this book, taking about how bad the wife was, and that's part of the reason why he had the affair with Airiana's mom, well, I'm wondering why in the world someone told the wife where the chip was in the first place!

The whole thing with Theodotus Solovyov is her dad? The above guy? Yeah, that was something of a shocker! And yeah, he wasn't a too likeable guy, because he wanted her to drop her life, and just agree with everything he said, and treated her like a child. Yeah.

I really loved how Maxim felt about the kids. On the one hand, he wanted them to be safe. On the other, he didn't want to be the one to keep them so, he was kinda terrified by the prospect! It was just another thing-besides Airiana-that he was afraid of. It was just so cute!

Favourite lines: "'You won't drown. You'll be with me.' 'Do you have any idea how arrogant you sound? Of course I'll drown. What part of "I can't swim" don't you get?' 'I'll tuck under one arm and do the swimming.' 'Do you expect me to use a tank to breathe?' 'We could do mouth-to-mouth if you prefer.'" Yes, he's a Prakenskii, all right! "What else can I help you with on that list? Surely a kiss isn't the only thing you're looking forward to ding before you die." You're asking for something, and it's not what you think! "I'm bringing them in. Don't shoot us. He almost wished she would. What in the hell was he doing with these kids?" Uh, rescuing them? "Maxim hoped the horror didn't show on his face. He was trained to stay expressionless, but what the hell? He could just see himself going across countries, assassinating criminals with four children in tow." Kinda sounds like the one movie series! "I'm not a puppy, Airiana. You can't just bring me home." Well, that's what happened with your two brothers, so why not?

This was just such a great book, and yeah, I can't wait for Earth Bound, it's going to be great!
