First Lines Friday #186, February 6th

First Lines Friday is a bookish meme hosted by Literary Marie of Precision Reviews. We encourage all of our fellow book bloggers and bookhearts to play along.

-Grab your current read(s)
-Share the first line(s)
-Include the title and author so that other FLF participants can add the book to their TBR Lists!

"Padre Garcia Luiz Batista was struggling with his hoe, tilling weeds from the mission's garden, when the stranger stumbled from the jungle. The figure wore a tattered pair of black denim pants and nothing else. Bare-chested and shoeless, the man fell to his knees among rows of sprouting cassava plants." -Amazonia by James Rollins.

Well, things don't seem to be going his way, do they? What about you guys? Happy reading!

  1. First of all, I like this cover. Secondly, things don't seem to be going the stranger's way. Wonder if he is okay or what is wrong.

P.S. We need to be NOOK friends!

    1. Yeah, it's a pretty great cover :) And nope, they aren't, seeing as he's dying! And I have no idea what nook friends are...

I love comments, so comment away! I'll comment back if you leave a post-specific link for me to visit! If you leave that link, I'll always comment back, even if it's like, a month late!

This is an award free blog! Thanks for thinking of me but I just don't have the time to pass it along!
