Nastasya has spent the last century living as a spoiled, drugged-out party girl. She feels nothing and cares for no one. But when she witnesses her best friend, a Dark Immortal, torture a human, she realizes something's got to change. She seeks refuge at a rehab for wayward immortals, where she meets the gorgeous, undeniably sexy Reyn, who seems inexplicably linked to her past.
Nastasya finally begins to deal with life, and even feels safe--until the night she learns that someone wants her dead.
My Review:
Oh, this was an awesome book! Nastasya is a great character, witty, and sarcastic, and full of seemingly random tidbits of her past, and just the past in general, and she comes to this realization that just partying is destroying her, and she needs something different, and then she's at the rehab run by good people, and she meets Reyn, and he looks familiar, but she can't quite place him, since the age that the group thinks he is is younger then her, and what she remembers him from makes him older then her. Yep. And finding out what their families did to each other, well, that was destructive day! Especially after their kiss!
Nastasya wakes up from her party lifestyle of over 80 years when her friend breaks a cabbie driver's spine after he's rude to their group, and then just leaves him. So she packs a few things, and just runs. And ends up at the rehab place where things are a more simple, and where she's expected to work for her food, doing things she hasn't done since she was very young, so about 400 years ago. And she finds she actually likes it.
And then she has to get a job, and she works at this convenience store, where the dad acts pretty darn bad to his daughter, and she just takes it, and Nastasya does what she can to help, while starting to be a friend with a girl with a hard life. She also has to deal with this girl who has a major crush on Reyn, and tries to drive them away.
The ending with Nastasya going to claim her birthright, and finding out that Reyn's family was the one that killed his, well, that was really explosive, and yeah, this was an awesome book! And it left plenty of threads for the next book!
I loved this book, it was so good, so I hope you guys check it out!

Reason Why: This is actually quite weird. I started reading the sequel online, a teaser group of pages here, and I didn't know it was a sequel. Come a few days later, I'm at the library, and I see this book, looks interesting. Then I see the sequel on a blog, and it was linked to this one! And I had no clue that they were! It was totally weird!! And I just want to read it!
