Today's teaser comes from Ice Song by Kirsten Imani Kasai, page 43.

"She was desperate to snatch a breath of fresh air, however deadly. A minute ago she'd been freezing, but as her blood pressure spiked, hot red poppies blossomed on her cheeks."

I wonder why the fresh air was deadly!
